we think she stepped on some glass yesterday, it sliced a small piece off her pad. We have checked all her nails she didnt rip any off, there is a small chip in one, but it didnt cut to the quick. We washed it in epsom salts and then bandaged it with gauze and polysporin as was recommended by the vet, but every time she goes outside she A) pulls off the bandage, and B) the cut starts to bleed a little bit again. Kind of like when you open a healed cut on the bottom of your foot. she doesnt favour it, and she doesnt whimper when I touch or clean it (except once when I applied a little bit too much pressure I think. Is there a way to get her to leave the bandage on? or to stop the cut from re-opening? Any suggestions (other than go to the vet as this is not an option at the moment) would be greatly appreciated

Ever since he was born (we owned his mother) my cat has always hissed, not as a sign of anger, but to show his desire for attention. He will hiss at you, then wind his way around your legs, or jump up on the couch beside you and show affection (ie kneading my leg, or nudging my hand to be pet) Someone said to me this was a sign of mental or neurological issues in my cat, I thought he was just unique... is my Cat sick? My 4 year old autistic daughter has developed head lice. My other two children have no signs of it whatsoever. The only children my 4 year old has been in contact with are my own children, and my best friends sons, who have no hair. No one else we know has it... how could she have gotten it?

Ok I have seen alot of good suggestions for cats that pee all over the house, and some of them seem like Great suggestions that I will definitely try (like someone suggested putting small bowls of kibble around the spots they frequent) but the problem I have is with laundry, my 16 year old helps with the laundry,(because my husband and I work opposite shifts, and have 4 kids folding laundry isnt always the priority) , and as such he will leave a basket of laundry on the main level for days until someone else folds it, by that time it usually needs to be rewashed!! also if my 5 year old leaves her Jacket on the floor or a jacket falls off a hanger in my closet, the cats will pee on it, they are particularly attracted to the kids jackets, and school bags, is there anything I can do to make them stop? There are too many conflicting opinions on discipline and behaviour correction I dont know whats right and whats wrong... also I have two male cats and dont know which one is peeing ...

My husband bought it, and i cant get a hold of him, i THINK it was on Sunday. It doesnt smell, still has a beautiful pink colour, and we buy direct from the farmer at the market, so it doesnt sit around the grocery store. I know they say when in doubt throw it out, but I also know that with Ground beef you can tell by the smell and the colour. Suggestions??

I just got some new fish and many of them are guppies, a few of them are pregnant, i put one in the breeding trap because she looked like she was ready to give birth, but she is in there with my sons silver lyre tail molly ( I have a 3 way breeder, but did not until two hours ago put in the divider) the guppy's have just turned black, i dont mean the pupils in the center of the eye, i mean the whole eye, almost as if she doesnt have an eyeball anymore, is my fish dying?

what should i do?

Every Christmas I try to make macaroons, and every year they come out flat. I have tried increasing the coconut, increasing the oatmeal, adding oatmeal to the recipes where none was called for, using parchment paper, not using parcment paper, greasing the sheet, not greasing the sheet, having the cookie trays ice cold when dropping the cookies... but always always always they flatten. what am I Doing wrong?? I finally found a recipe on KraftCanada.com for easy chocolate Macaroons, and even THOSE came out flat. These are mine and my husbands Favourite Christmas treat, can someone Please help??

Hey there! i reacently... inherited a 30 gallon fish tank. I have had fish before so I know all the usual stuff, but this one is... unique... my friends cousin dumped a half a bottle of bleach into his tanks(fish and all, he was breeding cichlids :( ) and I need to clean the chlorine out of the tank to make it safe... I know that I cant use soap, because that will kill the fish... so is there a safe way to clean out the chlorine from the tank. He has already tried rinsing the tank with hot water, and letting the water sit for 4 days with the water filter pump running (but without a filter i think he said so i am not sure what good THAT did) and took a water sample to the ministry of environment, who said it had 4X the regular chorination, so we think that the bleach may have gotten into the sealer in the corners... does anyone have any suggestions for a good fish friendly cleaner??
