Have you ever met someone that could use their words like an artist does with paint, and do you stand in awe?

Their thoughts are expressed with such eloquence, you begin to think if they are even real, their words splash across your mind just as an artist swings a brush, their words paint a picture so vivid, and full of life you could almost touch it.

I have and i'm lucky to have met them

I think you might be surprised to find that some of the people you think are so eloquent, really don't think of themselves in those terms at all, and would be very surprised if you told them what you think. They are more than likely, simply people who think about what they are going to say before doing so. They also probably proof read what they have written, and try to edit it so that it says what they are intending to say in the most efficient manner. You probably don't think of yourself as word artist, but from the way you asked your question, you are. And I am lucky to have met you.

Wow, you just went and did a pretty good job of that yourself! ;~)

I have always loved to read. Words can truly transport can't they? No movie or play could ever match the power of the WORD.

It is a gift but I think in order to truly communicate your thoughts you really need to expand on your knowledge of the English language.

As someone who transcribes words for a living, I often run across new words and have to look up their meanings (a real pet peeve of mine--can't pass on a word whose meaning I don't know) and I am always impressed by the language skills some people possess.

But being a writer, able to CREATE stories and such and then put things so eloquently, and fill them with emotion and mental imagery, wow...that is truly a gift and I wish I had that.

I have met a few whose use of the written word is so vivid and marked with such expression that they utterly fascinate me with what most consider mere words. One I met on Y/A. Her screen name is, "ja'aj." She has such a unique ability to emphasize certain words and never fails to underplay less important ones. Her emotions are expressed with each word. Not only does she choose her words as a means of communicating her thoughts so effectively, she has an incredible gift of utilizing punctuation as a means to captivate the reader’s attention. She is more an expressive writer. I find those less common than an eloquent speaker. A gift not many possess.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for asking this question! I have never met another person who could explain it so eloquently. It happens to my husband and I when we talk. During our deep, fervent conversations, (and after 15 years they still happen with regularity) our words, so full of life and passion about the subject we are discussing rise from us back and forth, up and down, and are so rich and vibrant that the only way I have been able to describe it to people is that we are weaving this beautiful tapestry in the air, with shimmering colors and complex designs as our words ring out. The crescendo of our conversations fills us with this satisfaction (almost erotically) at how our words blend; whether we are agreeing and adding to each others opinions, or disagreeing and making our own thoughts known.

It is an amazing and beautiful thing and I'm so lucky to have that in my life. I do stand in awe. You are very fortunate, yourself, but then - you knew that already!

    Best wishes!

I've met Stick To Your Guns, Terror, Trapped Under Ice, Close Your Eyes, Senses Fail, The Story So Far, Set Your Goals, The Wonder Years and more. It might not seem like a big deal, but I love all of those bands dearly. A few. I have a couple from Jesse because I'm in love with him. I really, really need to meet Henry Rollins and get an autograph. Ugh. I could die happy. I'm watching What Not to Wear. Bye! Have you seem Mr. Popper's Penguins? I really want to watch it. Lol

  • That person would be my Dad. He was the most eloquent speaker and writer I have ever known.

We are so blessed. He wrote his life story in vignettes. After his passing, my sister and I made them into a book. I read the stories on a regular basis. They always bring a smile and a happy tear.

Glad you know someone who is so special in your life as well, Jay.

    Have some tacos for me!

Sometimes people have a way of expressing of themselves and will say the wildest things. One time I was talking to someone and he said was going to move to California and live in the gold mines where the air is foul.

Yes I have met someone that not only paints a rainbow with his words he opens the window to his soul.

    Nice question, Jay, thanks.
