Does anyone know Where you can purchase replacement asbestos siding?
I own a 100 yr old house and in the 50's the owner at the time put up asbestos siding. I would like to keep the siding,..I like the way it look. I have researched all about it and it is safe as long as none are broken. Also my house is insured as a brick house because the siding is "fire-proof". Anyway, I have a few I need to replace, and we are also removing a window and need replacement pieces of siding to put in the place the window was. Does Anyone know where I can get replacement siding for the places i need to replace? I know you can purchase fiber-cement ones, and I've heard of the company GAF which sells weatherside. It really does look like what I need, but does anyone know where you can actually buy it? It doesn't say on the website
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough,..sometimes I have that problem because I ramble, lol, but I know you can't get actual asbestos anymore. I am looking for the fiber-cement ones, i just don't know who sells them.

You might want to go to your local home center and check with the people at the special order desk. They might be able to look something up for you.
Here you go, I did a quick search for you...

Hope this helps.

Asbesto is outlawed and cost big money to dispose of it. Any company sells Asbesto will be fined big time. That's why u cannot find it. All I can recommend is get the fiber-cement ones or the GAF that u mentioned. Sorry for the bad news...just want u to save ur time from looking.

asbestos is can be very toxic and deadly, it is not legal for sale in household products.
I once worked on a house with asbestos siding, and it was replaced with vinyl siding that looked almost identical to the existing tile pattern.
Shop around, you will find something that is similer, but you may have to venture outside of the local home imporvement stores to find it.
Asbestos is only toxic when it is inhaled, siding itself is not toxic unless you cut it or break it so that fibers become airborn and you can inhale them.
You must dispose of your old siding properly, so dont just call for a dumpster, if they find out there is asbestos in it you could be in some serious trouble.

Might try a builders or siding contractors supply store..
Lots of renovation going on & the stuff you want is not uncommon & is widely used for most repairs.
Best regards
