Both sides of the isle are corupt. With any of the last several Congresses, the only things that have been accomplished are; Free Trade Agreements(bad for the US), Congressional Pay Raises(bad for the US), and Needless Investigations Into Professional Sports(again, bad for the US).

Elect everyone running against an incumbent in 2008!

This is how I think it would go through Congress today.

1.Freedom of speech, press, and of assembly; right to petition

YES-so long as nobody is offended

2.Right to keep and bear arms

    NO-only lawbreakers can have guns

    3.Protection from quartering of troops

    YES-that's too good for them.

4.Protection from unreasonable search and seizure

    YES-we don't want to violate a criminal's rights.

    5.Due process,self-incrimination

    YES-We don't want to violate a criminal's rights

6.Trial by jury and rights of the accused; Confrontation Clause, speedy trial, public trial, right to counsel

NO-speedy trials are over-rated. Slow ones cost more and make lawyers(which we all are) richer.

    7.Civil trial by jury

NO-unelected justices can decide what's right better than regular people.

8.Prohibition of excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment.

    NO-Excessive bail means more revenue.

9.Protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights

NO-Congress feels that the Federal Government should control all aspects of daily life.

    10. Power belongs to states and people.

NO-Congress feels that the Federal Government should control all aspects of daily life.

11.Free trade with China, Iraq, and Saudi.

YES-we need to encourage free trade so that all of our jobs go to other countries enriching their economies. We are too well off.

12.Congressional pay increase of 34% each election cycle.

YES-we don't earn enough. We have to feed our families.

13.Minimum wage increase of 7% every third election cycle.

    NO-stop being greedy, peasants!

    14.PORK PORK PORK

YES-mo money, mo money, mo money!

15.Free thought is outlawed, you must toe the party line. All non-Democrats and non-Republicans will be detained in Guantanamo.

YES-free thinkers are evil. Free thought equalls civil rights, new governments, less corruption, and people not buying into our BS! We can't have that.

Not a chance!!! We can't even build a real border fence! What in the hell is a virtual fence anyway?!

I really like #10, as we have become the subjects of our government, and not the voice anymore.

Everyday we lose a little bit more freedom in some way, be it smokers bans, gun rights etc.

Ron Paul is our one canidate who makes sense, and could maybe even fix our country back to what the Constitution was intended to be. Yet our biased media has made him all but disappear. Not many people even know of him. That's fair coverage - if your pushing an agenda- like Socialism. I am sure our lovely congress would veto every bill Paul would write anyway, just because he is not walking on the path the world bank is pushing us down.

It's probably too far gone to fix anyway, as we've sold out our industry to countries like China. The three stooges of canidates who are left are all after our freedoms, and we will be, if not on the doorstep of socialism before their term is over. $5 gas will go far in taking us there, as once everyone is out of money 'change'-like a Socialist system will be easy to initiate, and impose upon us.

I do believe that Darth Vader (Obama) will be elected, and the evil empire will rule us.

I wish I could have lived here 100 years ago, back when the Constitution was the Constitution, and 'is' was defined as 'is'.

    You ask an interesting question.

I think, left to their own devices, Congress would approve the bill of rights, but in this modern world of instantaneous communications, blogs, special interest groups etc, the pressure that would be brought to bear would be enormous.

Just think of the arguments the anti-gun people would marshall. And they would make sense.

But they would be countered by the pro-gun lobby with equally persuasive arguments.

It would be interesting to see how something like that would play out.

Now I have one for you: Can you imagine a Democratic candidate for president today using JFK's line: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

no longer if Rahm Emanual ( modern Chicago Mayor ) had it his way while he grow to be Obama's chief of group. He had actually written a "new" invoice of Rights, which between different products, made ANY criticism of a Public discern, a criminal. fortuitously, he can purely injury Chicago with this socialist hogwash. answer: no longer with the Democrats.
