Petsmart Authority Cat Food?
Can anyone give me opinions on Authority Brand Cat Food. I recently was told by my vet that my kitten might have food allergies. He was being fed Purina One, which contains chicken as the main protein source. Authority Salmon is the only brand I could find that did not contain chicken, chicken meal, or chicken fat in the ingredients. And I was weary about trying anything with Turkey as the main protein source. I have four cats so I can't afford to make my own cat food with fish, venison, beef, or lamb as the cost of groceries is expanding. So, any advice or reviews are really appreciated!!
I did check Blue Buffalo at the store and on the web, and it does contain chicken fat. My vet is the one who told me to change the protein source. His allergies aren't really affecting his skin, they are more in his ears/eyes/nose. Does that help?
Please no more suggestions that contain Chicken/Poultry. I am looking up your advice and so far they all contain these ingredients.

Authority cat food: No good. Contains corn.
(Although it is certainly possible for cats to be allergic to chicken, grains are more often the culprit. You'd do better to switch to a grainless food, even one with chicken, than to use a food that contains these fillers.)
If you need to remove chicken from the menu, then you want what we call novel protein sources. There are a few good brands available that don't use chicken.
Nature's Variety has two lines - Instincts and Prairie (Instincts is better). Evo has a new food out called 95% meat. Merrick has a new line out as well called B.G. (Before Grains). Natural Balance has one canned variety - venison & green pea.
The B.G. foods are not complete and balanced. If you try these, be sure to keep them to 2-3 times per week or add a supplement such as Wysong's Call of the Wild. The others are complete so no worries.
I personally feed Instincts - it is pricy but perhaps that'll be ok during your feeding trials.
I would avoid fish because too much of it, even in cat food, is bad over time. And not only that, but fish is often an allergen as well, so you're better off avoiding fishy foods during this time anyway.

It is typically not the meat proteins in cat foods that cats are allergic to. Foods such as Purina One contain grains as supplemental protein sources, which is a huge allergen to many cats. I would be more leery of the grains than of the chicken. One of my cats had horrible skin allergies, and they completely cleared up within 3 months of switching him to a grain free food. He went from needing allergy shots every 3-4 months to needing no allergy shots for over 2 years now. Innova EVO and Wellness Core are two great examples. I recommend switching to one of these brands as opposed to any brand that contains grains (especially corn).

I feed my kittens EVO cat/kitten formula canned and Authority kitten formula canned . They do very well on it, they don't throw up or have runny poops. But the down side is that their poop does stink because Authority is low quality cat food. But it's better than other low quality cat foods like IAMS, Purina, Fancy Feast or Friskies.
If you can, look for Nature's Variety Instinct. There's a store locator on their website.

This is high quality cat food. They have rabbit, venison, and lamb formulas canned. And they also have rabbit dry cat food. The cans cost more than a dollar. Hope this helps!

I'll edit to answer once I know which food you are talking about.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aUACa
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Did your vet run the expensive test to prove your cat was allergic to chicken? Because it's very unlikely he was able to narrow it down without that allergy test. And even then the only way to prove it's the chicken would be to feed the cat nothing but chicken and see if the cat reacts.
I'd say your cat is more likely allergic to grains. And since all dry kibbles have grains (sans Evo, wellness core and raw instinct) It's time for you to move to a grain free canned food diet.
Even just stepping up the grade of the canned foods to something healthier and more natural will help.
I recommend varying the diet with a constant rotation of accepted canned foods that your cat enjoys. If you do this, and allow your cat the same assortment they would have in nature when eating mice, bugs, birds and rabbits, your cats’ digestive system won't be so sensitive and you won't have to run around looking for a specific brand when your store is out. You will have a nice variety to choose from instead.
