Stray Kittens! Help?

My mom and my neighbor found three kittens that belong to this feral cat. The cat picked one up and put it under a bridge in my neighbor's yard and my neighbor ended up carrying the other two to the bridge. The feral cat is scared of humans and runs away when anyone gets close. We asked the vet on what to do to keep them from turning feral and they said to handle them as much as possible so we've been petting and holding them. We arent sure if the mom has been back today (she wasnt nearby/yesterday is when they were found). We fed them wet dog food my neighbor had from when they had a dog (which passed away a couple days ago) and they ate tons of it. We have no idea how old they are they look like 6 wks. We already have people who may take them if they live which includes our neighbor. What do we do? Leave them (theyre under the bridge in the WOODS which has owls and other animals that eat small animals) or have my neighbor bring them inside to raise? Will the mom come back for them?

Update:

I dont know how old they are. im not sure

Update 2:

the mom came back and was there when we went to deliver cat food (wet) to the kittens. We fed the kittens some cat food and the mom was like a really small skinny calico. She ate 1 and a half cans of cat food, she was starving. She only lets you go like 3-4 feet near her. The kittens came out of the bridge, crawling towards my sister and i so apparently they're getting used to humans. We're going to try to catch the mom so our neighbor can take her to their parent's barn where she will be taken good care of. The kittens might already have homes! Tomorrow we're going to buy more wet cat food for the 4 cats (1 mom 3 kittens) and feed them. We're going to see if they stick around and after a few weeks move them indoors at our neighbors house probably.

Update 3:

Oh and we live in a private drive so very few cars pass during the day. Theres no way they'll get run over and we're feeding them cat food so they wont starve..

If you are sure they are over 6 weeks bring them in but please no dog food. Dogs are omnivores and cats carnivores. Canned cat food is best

I haved saved so many animals [ever ferals]. Please get the kittens inside, make them a cozy place to sleep, and buy them kitten food. the mom will eventually come back. She is probably looking for food. The mama cat needs to be trapped humanely{call animal control for resources]. She needs to be spayed and since she is feral, she needs to be brought back to the place she was found. Yes, the kittens need to be put up for adoption and also spayed or neutered when old enough. Please stop this vicious cycle. You don't want the cat making babies anymore, cause next, their kittens will produce more. Many will suffer, anemia[too many fleas], other diseases, chance of being killed by cars etc. starving. Pls. call ur local animal control, humane society, animal rescue groups etc. There are probably things you can do that won't cost money or very little. Remember, it is better to be put to sleep and go to animal Heaven, than suffer a life of misery and reproducing this to more and more animals. SOMEONE must do something or the problem will continue to progress.

id say too keep them in the house and care for them because chances are if the mother is scared and might notcome back i wouldnt give it a chance and you should really stop feeding them dog food because a cat's diet without taurine, a substance for he's eyesight, will make the cats go blind. Dog food lacks taurine so never feed it to a cat. i hope this helps

I'd bring them in out of the woods. That's just me, tho... wanting to save every dog and cat that crosses my path.

    Get your wallet out.

You need to take them to the vet for worming, distemper shots and spaying and fixing.
