Need career ideas: What jobs or careers involve the following...?

I've been reading "Repacking Your Bags" by Leider and Shapiro. As a result, I have identified a number of characteristics of a job or career that are vital to achieving my life's purpose. My current education and experience, as well as education and experience that may be required to work in a particular field, are not important for the purposes of this question.

Please list any jobs or careers you can think of that would involve at least 2 or 3 of the following:

- discovery

- exploration

- learning, insight

- creative problem solving

- travel, especially world travel / new cultures

- nature, outdoors

- history, especially ancient history

- written communications, presentation, teaching

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful answers!

Royal Air Force could encompass a great deal of these elements and with regards to teaching when in you develop as an individual and find your own skill and 'specialist subject' and if your good you could even become an instructor. For example I was a good Combat Medic for the Army, specialised interest was Helicopters, taught in the training wing of my unit & was incharge of landing zones when on exercise / combat. Sounds like you'd love the RAF.

Mamadamus says, you already know what you want to do. What you seek now is the permission to do it. Mamadamus sees you as a tour guide in Egypt, or at a museum of history. Mamadamus says regular 9 to 5 life is robbing your soul. Mamadamus says, take the next flight to your dreams and you shall be happier than ever thought to be possible.

I know one recent college art grad that went into art program management. Another that works in a gallery and is a certified "art mover". They don't let just anyone move that million dollar stuff! Go to a local gallery and ask around - you might just get a summer job that will inspire you!
