Check with you mom, she is your best predictor of what your labor will be like (but even then, you could be different)
I asked my OB the same question and she said that first pregnancies tend to go later than 40 weeks.
But I went at 38 weeks with my first.(and 39&1/2 with my second).
Never discount your gut, women have great instincts.

My first came at 36 weeks. My Doctor told me that most new moms sometimes delivery earlier then a mother who has all ready delivered before. She also said it depends on your age. the younger you are the more likely you will deliver earlier. But it really depends. All pregnancies and births are different. My second felt like he was gonna come early at 33 weeks but didn't come until 38 weeks . So just get checked every week and if your baby comes at 35-36 weeks you should be good.. Its best to wait until after 35 weeks but you are almost there so good luck.

Ive read and been told that usually with your first pregnancy you go longer!. Unless there is something wrong and the baby needs to come out... But you will prob end up being over-due.
Congrats!

Well, the longer she can wait, the better. They pick up a lot of their weight in the last weeks. I remember feeling anxious though and excited ready for my baby to come. He came at 37 weeks. So, you never know!

My water broke at 38 weeks with my daughter so it's possible. Although you are always hearing how it's more commen for first timers to go past their due date. Good luck!
Oh and I agree with the previous poster...I had a c-section and it is not as bad as it sounds.

Statistics show that first babies are usually late!
Hang in there! Giving your baby as much time as you can will only benefit her :)
Good luck and congrats!

LOL its just wishful thinking honey.
first babies take longer to ripen and doctors encourage it to go longer so they can see how your body responds to pregnancy.
i went 42 weeks with my first.
