fumigation health risks?

i just got my apt fumigated and i'm not sure how soon it is safe to put all my food back in the pantry, clothes in the closet, dishes back, etc. The pest control company said 4-5 hours after should be okay. But I can smell it in the kitchen. They also said that not to scrub anything because that will defeat the purpose. Im very paranoid when it comes to stuff like this...

any advice or suggestions? Is it still harmful to humans after several hours?
