Sex agreement letter/contract between 2 sets of parents and children? Legal advice plz

Ok heres the situation. My male cousin of 17 years is and has been dating a girl who is 15 years old. The parents of the boy want to meet with the girls parents. The boys step-father wants to draw up a letter/contract agreement for the couple that the girls parents would have to sign. He wants to make sure that IF the couple were to decide to have sex (male is turning 18 in 1 month, the girl is turing 16), that the parents of the girl would agree not to press satitory rape charges on the boy, who would be labled for life as a sex offender. Knowing he only had sex with his girlfriend. The two come from upstanding families and plan on waiting until marriage to have sex. What is your opinion, legal advice, or knowledge on this silly thing? Btw we all live in Ohio, which i believe that the legal age of consent in ohio is 16?

The parents consent and signing of this document does not stop the girl from filing charges if it was to happen anyway. I would not sign this for my daughter, its basically saying that he can sleep with her anytime and she cant say she has been raped if she ever has or will be.

If they plan on waiting till marriage, of a legal age, there is no reason at all for this document.

You're right ohio the legal age of consent is 16 so there should be no worries as long as she's 16 she can have sex with whoever she wants (hopefully she'll wait til marriage tho) :-)

I would make sure they dont sleep together, depending on the state he can still be charged wth statutory rape I would suggest he just cool it with her for another year.

I highly doubt that the letter/contract would hold up in court anyhow even if it were drawn up and signed, even with a notary. I'd say contact an attorney and see what they have to say about it, but kudos to them for thinking ahead. Like you said though, if they don't have sex, they don't have to worry. :)

i think thats pretty good , the girls parents could take a fit and do somthing stupid like ruin that boys life if they wanted to get back at him or somthing

The boy should wait...it's not like they have to until they are 18. Children having sex early causes problems early on.

You got warned about me! Only joking. Those words are beautiful, and how very effective it must have been to be presented in that way! Your parents sound wise and very caring Comms. I hope to keep that in mind long enough to do something similiar for my son, it is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
