Cat breed similar to Ragdoll in temperament but smaller in size than a Ragdoll?
I'm thinking about getting a cat and a Ragdoll seems like a great option, the only thing that's slightly putting me off is the size. Does anyone know if there is a breed that has the laid back docile temperament like a ragdoll but is smaller?

Some of the Persians who are Siamese mix or Himalayans (which is the perfect blending of Persian and Siamese according to the industry) have that wonderful temperament and run small. My baby is a 17 year old Persian Siamese mix flame point, 5 pounds and really loving, laid back and a little lazy (sleeps a lot). You can also get miniature Ragdolls from certain breeders. IF my baby had been born with blue eyes instead of the yellowish/greenish/brown that he has, he would be Himalayan. Good rule of thumb, check the past litters, if the litters tended towards smaller cats, the one you are looking at will be small too.
I hear you, I adopted a half grown Bombay/domestic mix and ended up with a cat that was nearly 2 feet in both directions. Picking up a 15 pound cat is quite the work out. And yes, we were told it was 2 or so, then found out it was only 9 months and hadn't finished growing yet. Yikes!

No, there isn't. So get a mix. There's lot of small mixed breed cats at shelters looking for homes - all just as loveable as any purebred.
And FYI - the Ragamuffin is as big as the Ragdoll. I know because I have one.
