I just cut my head...what do I do?
I just hit my head really hard on a table and I didn't even realize that it was bleeding (it just really hurt) until I laid back against my bed and there was a blood mark there. I'm not really dizzy, but I'm wondering what to do about it. I have my head wrapped tightly in a towel; what else can I do? Thanks! Oh by the way I'm 13.
It's not that bad! the bleeding has almost stopped. I just want to be sure about infection.

Find an adult and let them examine your head, it could be that you may need to go and get treatment. If you begin to feel sick, vomit or become dizzy and faint phone 911 or ask someone else to phone 911 straight away. When the bleeding stops try and dab the area with some antiseptic cream or liquid, if it doesn't stop bleeding within 20 minutes, get help.

Here are some ideals for you hun...... Go for a walk or run, take a hot or cold shower (make sure there is nothing sharp in the shower), Play your music loud, Yell sream or cry, forces on your presence in the room, pound on your bed until you get tried, make a list of postives reasons why you want to get better, write a list of affirmations, you could call the crisis line they are helpful. But the one that works for me to get a red marker and take the marker like i'm cutting it is very helpful. Good luck hun, if you need more just e-mail I will tell you them. Take care. I hope this helped you.

That is pretty much it. Your head has lots of blood vessels so it will bleed alot. If you feel faint, have blackouts, pain gets worse. you develop a terrible headache, become dizzy, cant see, or your vision starts becoming out of focus, become nauseous, or begin throwing up go to the ER immediatly.

If you are at all worried, go and see your local qualified medical doctor. It could be a small cut because head cuts do bleed a lot. However you need not worry all by yourself, there is no need. For reassurance see your doctor, or if you would prefer go to your school nurse for advice.

If the blood didn't come pouring out it's not big deal. Put a bandaid on and call it a day. People just freak out when blood comes out of the head.
