So when the world doesn't end tomorrow...?

How do you think people will deal with it?

Chalk it up as a win for science?

Claim god must have decided not to smite us so he prevented it?

Ad-hoc denial? (Oh, the LHC is REALLY supposed to kill us on blah-blah date!)

Just forget it like nothing ever happened and move on to the next doomsday, learning nothing from their mistakes?

Unfortunately, I think I have those ranked from least likely to most likely.

Update:

I'm surprised there are this many people who don't know what I'm talking about, since every other question here is asking about it.

It's a shame, really. People are so damn concerned with the next doomsday that they fail to realise that all this commotion over nothing stops them from living there lives properly. It's the same mentality as worrying about terrorism... Of course, that actually happened so, I suppose there is a real threat... I think failing to live your life due to some silly rumour that is spreading over the net shows that maybe some people don't have much else to do? Or maybe they simply fall under the category entitled: moron.

I really don't care if people who do believe the world will end tomorrow are offended because, when it doesn't end, they will look stupid anyway for believing the hype and, if the very unlikely happens and the world does end, nobody will be able to tell me I was wrong because we'll all be dead. Of course, that isn't going to happen... FACT.

Well, I'll say this , there will be alot of , "I told you so", whether that was deserved or not is the question.

What is almost more interesting, is that in reviewing some of the other replies I was reminded of the old George Carlin quote "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that".

I find as I get older I'm suffering wanton stupidity / willful ignorance less easily than I did when I was younger, that said, about 1/2 of the people's responses backed that idea up.

    I'm surprised as you are.

How can almost no one know about whats going on right now?

    This is unbelievable!

CERN or LHC won't kill us tomorrow because they're just testing it at first and it won't be at its full power, not until October.

I find this experiment highly dangerous but if anything does go wrong (probably in a year or so, i think) it would all happen so fast, you wouldn't even know what was going on.

If it opens up a black hole, that black hole would have to grow for it to suck the earth in. It would take a long time for it to grow, but you never know....

Source(s): I've been reading about it for hours! lol

It will be because the Masons and the Knights Templar stopped the making of the black hole because the "educated whistleblowers" exposed their scheme! But have no fear, the agents of Goldstein never sleep! The saboteurs and haters of the party are hard at work on yet another plan to kill jebus and the aliens and end the world as we know it!

    Remember:

    Moon landings are fake

    Mayan calenders are truth

    NASA is slavery

    <sarcasm> Yes, PRAISE JESUS!!! </sarcasm>

People will just say, "Well I never believed it would happen completely, I was just trying to figure out if this thing I heard was real." But in the end, its still their fault for being so gullible.

No one will chalk it up to science... God forbid scientists could be correct! They use the "E" word! Let me tell you, "evolution" is not something the people in R&S like!

Actually now that I think about it, people probably will probably just forget about it. After all, I didn't hear any apologies from the 2000 doomsday prophecies!

I'll be back Thursday Sept 11 to tell you all "I Told You So."

NO world end tomorrow, and just to cover the other base, if it does no one will even know it has happened, therefore, no one will even care.

Crips I wish it was Thursday already so all this would be done with, one way or the other..

They're going to claim that God has postponed the Earth's destruction to blah-blah date and blame science for not seeing that He would do so.

    And then forget it.

None of us know when it's going to end. Heck it could end tomorrow. It ain't up to us! And it may not be 2012 either just because they didn't finish that calendar everyone is relying on.

If the world doesn't end tomorrow, I'm getting up same as usual to go to work. As a matter of fact, I'm counting on doing just that.

I think that people will go on, not even thinking about the fact that they are still alive and I doubt any one would unless they are like, going to die
