If your goal is to be a pharmaceutical rep, I wouldn't go the nursing route in education. A lot of pharmaceutical reps come to the office where I work and I don't think any of them have a nursing background. Most of them have science backgrounds or communications.
Qualities: Being adept at sciences and learning new information. Pharmaceutical rep training on the individual medications is intense.
An outgoing personality is critical.

Drug rep and traveling nurse are 2 totally different routes. I suppose you could become a drug Rep as an RN but probably only with some experience. I've always thought being a drug rep would be a decent career but have you ever seen an old drug rep? No. They are phased out when they can't have the young good looking sales man look any longer. Choose a career that you can grow with - the RN is a much better route for sustained employment and growth.
Plus the prestige factor as an RN is much higher. Drug Reps are just car salesman pitching products to drs. who could care less if you exist except for the free meals you bring their staff.
