what is the best way to make a turkey pot pie crust with Jiffy baking mix?

I normally wold use grands biscuts or something on top, but wanted to try making an actual biscut type crust on top. I have had homemade pot pie before and the whole casserole is topped with a like 1 1/2 inch crust. How exactly would I do this using Jiffy mix?

Just lay a layer of biscuit dough atop the pot pie filling and bake. Mix up the jiffy mix like the recipe says for biscuits, roll it out, then move it on top of the casserole dish. Or, if you like, you can cut out biscuits and lay them on top-- either way.

You need to follow a recipe for a pie crust. Mix mixing flour, milk, salt etc... will just make paste. Pie Crust: 3 cups flour 2-3 tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1 heaping cut veggie shortening well chiiled 1 cup ice cold water Mix the flour, salt and sugar. Cut in the shortening until pea sized, slowy add the water a dribble at a a time until pulls together. The add just a sprinkle more. Wrap in seran wrap and put in the fridge at least 1 hour, or overnight. Now here are my tips for getting a perfect crust: If you have a clear glass pie dish use that it is the best. I'll tell you why later. Cover the whole to pie foil for about the first 1/2 of the baking time. Look at the bottom of the pie pan. If you can see the bottom crust starting to brown then it is time to take the top foil off. If it is not yet turning brown then leave the foil on longer. * If you don't have a clear pie pan then just go a little longer than half way or try to peek by usuing a butter knife and gently pulling the crust away from the edge, it doesn't always work but sometimes does. Ater the bottom starts to turn brown the unver the top of the pie and bake until the top os golden brown. This helps to prevent a soggy slimy bottom crust. You may need to re-wrap just the edges of the pie if they are getting to dark and the middle is still pasty white, so keep the foil ready.

    SOUPER SIMPLE POT PIE

    filling:

about 1 lb meat, cooked and cut into small pieces

(also works with 1 lb ground meat, browned and drained)

1 can cream of something soup (see note below)

1/2 cup dried vegetable flakes for soups

    1/2 cup sour cream

Mix filling ingredients well, set aside.

    crust:

    1 cup biscuit mix

    3/4 cup milk

    1 egg

Mix crust ingredients well. Crust should be pourable; if not, stir in a little more milk. (If using store-brand biscuit mix, start with 1/2 cup milk.)

Spread filling in a greased 8"x8" baking pan or 9" pie pan. Pour crust over this as evenly as possible. Bake about 30-35 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make the biscuits according to the directions on the Jiffy Mix box and top the pot pie mixture with it. I would cut the biscuits into squares or rounds first, just to make for easier serving.
