Did you see Letterman last night? What did you think?

McCain was supposed to appear on Letterman last night, but he said he had to be on his plane headed to Washington so he couldn't appear. Well, Letterman found out he lied, and was actually interviewing with Katie Couric, just down the street, at the time. (McCain left this morning, not last night).

Letterman ripped him a new one. It was hilarious, and shameful for McCain (not even his campaign, but for McCain personally since he himself lied to Letterman).

Now he wants to cancel the debate because Washington "needs" him. He lied to Letterman to get out of an appearance. How do we know he's not lying this time?

Anyway, if you didn't see Letterman last night, find a video and watch it. It was great. If you did see Letterman last night, what did you think?

Update:

---

saadhusa... Don't worry about poor Cindy. She hasn't had an accident that caused disfigurement, she's still reasonably attractive, and hey... she's still got $40 million (and God knows how many houses). She's safe. Now, if Cindy gets injured and Katie is rich enough, Cindy might have a problem...

Letterman made the best of it, but yea he clearly felt "dissed" and in the end McCain looked bad for lying. He should have just stated that he got double-booked - end of story.

I wonder if McCain will address the issue in the media to explain his lie - or reschedule on Letterman. I'm guessing no.

I think that McCain's ploy to suspend his campaign, cancel the debate, and skip Letterman - all to help with the bailout bill, has backfired on him.

Not only did McCain miss a good opportunity to talk about his solution to the biggest crisis the US has had for over 50 years, he also lied about going to Washing, DC and then sneakily meeting with Couric. I hope he's not planning on leaving his current wife for Couric now. With Republicans you never know.

Letterman was pretty serious about some of his drilling on McCain. The part about letting Palin come do the interview was in fact correct in my opinion. If McCain is somehow not pres. anymore it'll be Palin running the show. That scares the heck out of me, especially after what I've seen in the Couric interview.

  • .. I watch 9 Letterman's out of every 10 for the last 27 years or so

but I slept thru last nights

watched the video and "whoooaaa !!!!"

I think Letterman was .... uhh ... "ticked"

If I wasn't already an Obama advocate, I sure be

more likely to be one today.

I am somewhat embarrassed to witness McCain

getting caught with his pants down so blatantly

indicates an unfittness for a leadership position

    of this magnitude.

My friend this is just another ploy by McCain to win the election. When will people realize everything he does revolves around winning, not bettering the country. For example, Palin was much more qualified for the position than Mitt Romney and a number of other republican congressman/govenors wasn't she? No, and McCain doesn't care. He's just trying to get Hillary's votes. Anything to win for McCain.

i imagine he replaced into, he replaced into no longer performing ordinary. He regarded harm some circumstances by technique of letterman's feedback and that stung me somewhat, i concept they were somewhat unkind for my area yet i wager Joaquin wasn't being a very solid shopper both. None the a lot less it replaced into painful to observe and that i does no longer have lengthy gone so a thoughts as letterman in words of his jokes, I propose he would not recognize what Joaquin replaced into dealing with in his existence, i concept he lacked empathy and perspicacity, his jokes were uncalled for and not in any respect replaced into Joaquin being impolite, he replaced into in basic terms dazed, there's a huge difference... besides, it probably runs plenty deeper than maximum persons imagine and that i don't love Casey Affleck's plans, I guess he's as a lot as no solid such as his stupid documentary. Gosh if i replaced into Joaquin's lady friend me and Casey ought to have had a hell of a communication...

It was a well deserved roast. What did he expect to happen? Letterman is pretty sensative about cancellations and to lie and appear on another show being taped 5 miles away at the same time is that man really smart enough to be President? A politcal stunt that backfired on him big time.

I've heard the audio, and it was great. That's what you get for grandstanding and making a complete mess out of it.

Aside from that, I think you've pretty much summed up my point of view except I talk too much and it ends up being incredibly long winded.

"...blah blah blah... ridiculous stunt... blah blah... wrapping himself in the flag to deflect the fact that he's been exposed as clueless... blah blah...stop the bleeding from getting his butt kicked for two weeks..."

Someone said earlier that "Palin made Katie Couric look like Edward R. Murrow." That cracked me up. Also, "You know when Katie Couric is bringing the gravitas to the interview that you're in trouble."

Letterman was ticked and rightfully so. McCain got the bashing he deserved. It was funny.
