Which is better at controlling fleas Advantage, K9 Advantix, Frontline Plus, etc.?
I'm confused to whether Advantage or Frontline Plus works better on fleas for cats and dogs...is there any real difference? I have tried advantage and frontline plus on my dog and cats and I think they are both great and maybe I haven't noticed a difference but would really like to know which is better at treating and preventing fleas since I am sensitive to fleas myself and would like to know which method is best to not infest my home with them.
Or should I use different products for different types of pets? Like Advantage on my cats or Frontline plus on my dog?

I prefer Frontline Plus for my dogs and Advantage for my cats! If both of the products seem to be working for you then choose the one you like best or talk to your vet!

In the past few years I have had no luck with Frontline Plus, and I am reading more about how fleas are beginning to build a resistance to it. Since I have switched to Advantage the beginning of last spring I have not seen a flea! I also ripped up all my carpets in the pet areas, and put out flea traps near their beds (the kind with lights and stick paper).
K9 Advantix can not be used in households with cats, its toxic to them. Also I have heard nothing good about the new Promeris!

I have used frontine plus for my 2 cats who never go outside, and although it works at getting rid of most of the fleas, I still continue to have to use the product over and over. I used it for 4 months strait on both cats and frontline sent me 3 doses due to the product being guaranteed for free, but I used those doses as well, and 30 days later I see more fleas and my cats are starting to scratch again. So I say it works well to combat the problem, but don't think your going to buy it and have the problem eliminated. I haven't tried advantage yet, but may consider that next time.

I use the Frontline Spray in my home as I have dog and two cats - I spray skirting boards etc every so often all year round - I don't believe you can keep fleas totally out!!! Think cats bring them in, but Frontline keeps a good control - I also sprinkle a bit of Doc Martin Fleas powder on dog and cat beds - it is a problem, Good luck

K9 Advantix is not approved for cats - it's toxic to them in fact and should not even be used on dogs in the same household as cats. Both Advantage and Frontline Plus are great products. I have used both and both work well on both kinds of pets.

Frontline Plus is the best. That's what my Vet recommends for both cats and dogs.
