If you were a baseball General Manager...?

...and you wanted to offer Manny Ramirez a contract when he becomes a free agent, what would you offer? (Length of contract and money, specifically.) This, of course, assumes you have the resources to do want you want.

Please include the rationale behind your answer. As always, thoughtful, respectful answers are appreciated. Please refrain from negative rants and comments which don't apply to the question. Thanks! :-)

Regardless of length and dollars, I CERTAINLY would not offer any option years on the end.

Ramirez totally sank that ship with his actions this past season.

Manny is 36 right now. Id offer him 3 years wtth an 2 year option.

The first 3 years 60 Mill

and the other 2 for 30 Mill.

I would try to lock up Ramirez to a four year, $90 million deal. Manny Ramirez's recent salary history shows he made approximately $79 million in his final four full seasons with Boston (2003-2007), so I don't think $90 million would be a significant stretch for someone of his ability; that's $22.5 million per season.

It depends on if I was in the AL or the NL. If I was in the AL I would probably offer him 6 years

at 90 million. If I was in the NL it would be more like 4 years at 60 million.
