Opinion on Reception Table Mock Up?

Our reception hall is white, the chairs are white, the plates are white, the linens are white... so, this is what I am thinking of trying to add a little bit of color. I used white roses because it's all they had at the grocery store this morning. :) I would probably use yellow or orange, but I'm trying to stay away from red. It's a fall wedding. Can you let me know what you think of this DIY wedding reception table?

I used a champagne organza overlay to cover the white table cloth. I used burgundy ribbon around the napkins (but, I think I may use a chocolate color instead), and then the flowers. I am particularly interested in what you think of the floral centerpiece. Not so much the colors, but just the idea. Thoughts please!

Update:

This table is my coffee table! So, our reception tables will be much larger. They seat 8-10 people. :)

    I'd ditch the lilly.

I also think it might be cute if you add a colorful piece of fabric, about the size of a napkin, in the center of the table, then put the centerpiece on top of it. Then you could stick with the white roses if you wanted, or use a coordinating color. I think the white looks classy though.

Will your tables be the same size as the one you are using in the pic, or will they be bigger? ... Looks like guests won't have much room for their drinks, or other plates if they have more than one at a time. If you will actually have a bigger table, then fine, keep the candles, but if the table is the same size, then I think you need to get rid of the candles so the guests don't feel crowded.

I think your layout is beautiful. It does not look like a DIY project either, imo. I really like the lily. I think making the color scheme tone-on-tone would be nice, i.e. champagne overlay, and chocolate ribbon. Also consider yellow/orange callas are nice for fall, if you can get your hands on them for a DIY. I like the idea of yellow/orange v. the white. Also I like the vase and rocks you selected.

PS If you are in the states, the forks go on the left, and the knife and spoon go on the right. Also, it is to tell from the pic, but make sure there is room for one or two glasses (water & wine or tea) for each place seating. Remember those go on the right side, above the knife/spoon.

I like the design. I'd go with the burgundy: chocolate doesn't really go with much and can clash with a lot of colours.

The only thing that turns me off is that the lily seems to have a green thing around the stem to hold it up, and the green reflects in the water and makes it look sort of swampy. Did it look dirty in real life? If so, you might want to make sure the florist uses a white thingmadoody.

Comments on the centrepieces: Dont like them. They are really off balance with the giant flower coming out of the tiny bunch of roses at the bottom. It just doesnt make any sense to me. The rocks in the vase are fine. The ribbon holding the roses together is no good. Honestly, I would go with a "regular" arrangement and not try to make art with the strange elevated flower in the middle.

We suggest you take out the lily and go with just roses. If you want the lily take out a few roses and cut the lily to the same length as the roses. And idea if you want color. Is to get spray paint of the color you want and tip the roses in it. You want orange get orange paint. Spray the paint outside on a piece of paper. Take the rose and dip the top of it in the paint. It will dry really fast. It will give the take color.

Believe the lilly may cause a problem makes it perhaps to high. Have you considered maybe chrysanthemums for color. Or Gerber daisies rather than the lillies. Or if using the lilly cut the stem some.

I don't care for the flower sticking up. I think it would interfere with seeing the person across the table, conversing with the person across the table.

I like centerpieces to be either very low, so one can converse across them . . . or centerpieces that are very high, so they do not interfere with viewing the person across the table.

I suggest you sit at the table. See if that flower interferes with seeing the person seated opposite. In these photos, the flower appears to be at face level.

i think of the crimson roses in vases with rose petals on the table and the votive candles may well be in simple terms grogeous. besides the incontrovertible fact that, i does not placed the photos because it may be somewhat plenty. undergo in innovations, common is elegant so do not over do it via attempting to place hundreds of issues on the table as there could be one concentration, i.e the vase of plant existence with the others 2 small issues complenting it. yet different than that, that sounds as in case you will have perfect tables!

I am assuming that you know that the cutlery is set incorrectly? That aside, I really like it other than the lily being so much higher than the roses.
