My hand is numb and I don't know what to do.?

almost four weeks ago my hand and lower arm went numb and has been that way ever sense then. Ever once in a while I have a fluttering in my chest that I think is stress related. There is no pain at all. Is this a possible vitamin deficiency. I do have an issue with anxiety but have not had but 2 attacks this year. Any advice please. the numbness is more dominant in my hand and fingers. If needed to be known this is my left hand.

Update:

Generally when I go to bed I have my right arm under the pillow bent at the elbow and the left curled over my face. I usually wake up the same way.

do you shake out your hand at night to get relief from the numbness. if so then carpal tunnel.

with the lower arm included then it might be a brachial plexopathy from sleeping on your outstretched arm under the pillow or the like.

a vitamin deficency would not only effect one limb.

The numbness may be due to an injury to your elbow. The pains in your chest is another issue. As far as the anxiety, I am an expert in that area, because I suffer from severe anxiety/panic disorder so I do know that it can cause your heart to palpitate. My suggestion is to see your doctor. Depending on your age, weight and stress level these can all be factors.

Source(s): I hurt my elbow and my left hand was numb for 3 weeks. I personally experience anxiety daily.

could be carpal tunnel or a disc in your neck
