Removing old crutch tips for replacement?
What is the best way to remove the old crutch tips to replace them? We are having difficulty getting the old ones off.

Get a pair of pliers or vice grips and take them off. If they are not available take a knife and cut them off. When you replace them use a very light coat of Vaseline and this will not happen again.

Try holding the tip under hot water for a minute or so, that might expand the rubber and allow it to slide off. Or, try sliding a small screw driver inside to loosen the bond between the rubber and the crutch. Last resort, run a sharp utility knife down the length of the tip to split it. Good luck.

Take them to a rehabilitation or home health care support shop and they should be able to help you out.
