What is causing my cat to start peeing everywhere?

If she doesn't have bladder problems, you may have to potty train her again.

Maybe she doesn't like her litter, or the amount of litter in her litter box. Try a little more, or less, or a new brand.

Clean up the pee with bleach or something, even though you cant small it, the cat can.

Move the litter box to where she mostly pees.

And when you catch her peeing quickly pick her up and put her in the litter box.

When she wakes up and a little bit after she eats and drinks put her in the litter box, and make her paws scratch up the litter as if shes covering the pee or poop.

Take your cat to the vet as soon as you can. If she has never done this before, then the problem is more likely to be something physical and not behavioral.

Urinating all over like she is could mean she has a bladder infection, which has to potential to turn into something life-threatening fast. KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE on how much she is urinating until you do get her to the vet. Sometimes crystals will develop with a UTI (urinary tract infection) and will plug her up. If she is straining to go potty or acting like she is in any kind of pain, you will need to take her in for an emergency. As long as she doesn't plug up with crystals, treatment will be giving her an antibody daily for a week or two.

Many times when a cat stops using the pan, he/she has a urinary infection. This can be life-threatening with a male cat because if they cannot pee and get blocked, they will died in a few days. Get your kitty into the vet immediately and have her checked out - do not delay.

My spayed 7yr old female started doing that last week. I took her immediately to the vet........urinary tract infection!! I'm giving her meds to treat that this week, and hopefully she'll be fine by Tuesday. Otherwise, another round of meds!

IF your cat DOES have a UTI, then she's probably associating the PAIN of peeing with the litter box.....so she pees somewhere else.

Best bet........take her and have her tested for a UTI, before going "out of the box" becomes a BAD HABIT!!

Check her litter box every once in awhile. She might have a blatter infection. My cat does, just take her to the vet. My female gray tabby cat named Misty has been peeing in my sink lately.

Often urinating outside the box for no apparent reason can signify a urinary problem or some other illness.

She should see the vet for a check-up. Let them know about the new problem.

She may have bladder problems that have developed with age. I would first take her to a veterinarian to let them check her out.

she might be trying to mark her territory.
