why does my kitten do this to me?

Diana, my cats do this ALL the time. It's a perfectly normal cat behavior. :) I always found it endearing, I enjoy getting "love nips" from my kitties.

Since she's 6 months, I bet her teeth are pretty sharp and that's peak age for kitten shenanigans and "playful" biting and general cat-induced mayhem. I guarantee she'll mellow in time. If it hurts you, when she does it promptly stop petting her, place your arms at your sides and don't look at her whatsoever. If she's a smart kitty she'll get the gist eventually that biting = no love.

If it doesn't really hurt all that bad, I'd just learn to live with it. It's a cat thing. At least she doesn't lick your hair and sleep on your face like my gigantic furball does. :p

my cat does that to me, too. i don't think it's anything bad, it's probably just some form of affection. a strange way to show love but i appreciate it anyway :)

It's the kitten's way of showing affection, mine does this to me too and he also does it to my older cat.

She would normally do this to her mothers nipples. Be grateful. She is now viewing you as her Mom. Be patient and tap her on her nose and tell her NO! Don't get upset... it's her trying to bond with her Mom, YOU!
