How did Obama get elected? Read this pole.?
Nearly all of the Obama voters interviewed did not know who the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate were, they did know that the Republican Party spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and also knew that she was the one candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter.

Yea, i wasn't gonna say anything, but....
....well, if you're gonna talk trash, make sure you're on point when you do it; that includes usage of the correct word: IT's Poll, not "Pole".
And to be honest, most people don't know very much about who sits in particular seats and positions in government. There was a record number of new voters in this election, many of which were first time voters. Do you really expect everyone who votes to know all the people that are not on the news 24/7? I think not. They will learn the who's and what's when they learn it. If they don't, they don't.
Oh and to answer the "How did Obama get elected..." question you asked, the answer is pretty simple: People voted.
John McCain didn't stand a chance, the numbers were so lop sided, it wasn't even a contest. Obama won the popular vote and the electoral votes by a landslide.
Get over it man. Do what the rest of us Americans are doing, and try to get out country on track. Stop whining.

"The only reason that Mr. Ziegler's original survey got stupid answers from Obama's supporters is because he asked stupid questions."

The poll was designed to get the result it did, because the questions were not fact based. If they had asked "Which candidate was ACCUSED of starting his political career in the home of two former members of the Weather Underground?", the correct answer would have been unambiguous. But to get the question right according the poll, you not only had to be aware of that accusation, but you also had to accept it as true. So what the poll actually proved was not that Obama supporters were uninformed, but that Obama supporters did not believe all of the attacks made by McCain during the campaign.

You know so much, OK
1. Which presidential candidate's campaign hired a man who lobbied on behalf of saddam hussien in the 1990's.
2. Which candidate's wife stole pain relievers from children suffering from cancer?
3. Joe the plumber's cousin went to jail, for what and why is that relevant?
Lets see if you get those correct

Ever seen Jay Leno's Jaywalking segments on college campuses? Most students cannot even tell you the three branches of government, and they come by their ignorance honestly, since most Americans can't tell you either. Ignorance of government is no ban to voting. Voters are much more likely to know facts about the Presidential candidates than anyone in Congress. I dare say if you questioned Republican voters, they would know a lot about Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers. Neither that nor Palin's wardrobe are germane to casting a vote for president. But your question doesn't ask in equivalencies. Were Republicans asked the same question? Did they know who the leaders of Congress were? I would venture to bet that the average Republican like the average Democrat is ignorant of all but the most visible of things.

Republickers are even worse. I guarantee you that, were i to go to a couple a Red states and ask why they voted for McCain, the responses i'd get would be along the lines of:
"The opposition is a Muslim"
"The opposition is a Jihadist"
"The opposition is a Jihadist Muslim super terrorist"

Do you really think that those rednecks, mountain men, and Joe-six-packs, at McCain and Palin's rallies actually know who the leaders of the House and Senate are? The ones who were calling out "Terrorist", "Kill him" and "Traitor". Really???

Did you ever step out of your home and actually talk to real people that live in the united states ? Your Bush monkey screwed everything up that they worked all there lives for that's all they needed to know .
- bluenaketatLv 41 decade ago
that is the disturbing part, if you get rid of all the voters who had no knowledge of politics on both parties and count just those votes, maybe Obama would have won still, maybe not, but the race would have been a lot closer had it been informed voters anyway. The one poll they showed on election night for the exit polls, was 4% of the people said Obama was too conservative. Too conservative? Yeah they almost knew what they were talking about.
