HELP! type 1 diabetes, help help help ?
I have been thinking I have diabetes for awhile now. Unfortunately I missed my last appointment to see. An way I am experiences bulging veins in my arms and I always get warm, red splotches over my skin. I urinate very frequently too. I guess what I'm getting at is, I started taking a diuretic for acne a couple days ago and now I am having pressure in my head and all the typical symptoms of type 1 diabetes. I can't tell if I'm over reacting or I should go to the hospital. If ANYONE could get back to me asap I would really appreciate it!
thanks everyone for the help. I have more symptoms than that but I am a little panicky. Web md apparently doesn't have the right info! But good thing feeeew! I have seen the dermatologist about my skin they have no explanitions. This was the only thing that made sense. I Have lost a lot of weight over a short period of time unintentionally too. The list goes on and but I must say I am relieved my heads not going to spontaniously combust! : )

Your frequent urination and weight loss is from using a diuretic.

sweeite you are over reacting. type 1 diabetes can only be detected by a physician, but those are not typical of the disease. when my best friend got it at 7, she had bed wetting and she was not on diuretics. if it doens't get better in about a week make an appt to see a doctor! good luck with everything!

If you have type 1 diabetes, the symptoms become more life threatening as time goes along and within a short period. See my website. I don't think you have type 1 either.

You do have some of the signs of Type 1. Unexplained weight lose and frequent urination. Just make another appt. and get your blood sugar checked as soon as possible. I was 14 when I got diabetes and went down from 80 some lbs to 45lbs. I went to the bathroom constantly and ate like I weighed 500lbs!!!! If you have diabetes and get it controlled your face may clear up. The warm red splotches may be hives from you worrying so much:} Don't panic, just go to your doctor as soon as you can.

Those are not symptoms of diabetes. It sounds like you might need to see a dermatologist. However, if you are truly worried that you have diabetes and can't wait for a doctors diagnosis, the easiest way to find out at home is to taste your urine. Urine tastes like honey when you have diabetes because your body can't break down the sugar and so it just goes out with your waste. "Diabetes Mellitus" literally means "sweet urine". In Greek it means "to flow honey". Although, I'm sure you don't want to put your mouth anywhere near your pee, so it's better to sit back for now and wait until you can get a hold of your doctor.

After I was diagnosed at 29 I wanted to try anything at all to get better. I had tingling in my arms, numbness, eye sight problems, and my legs would cramp up after long walks. After trying this program https://tr.im/Diabetestreatments20150gMH and following it exactly I am happy to say that my pains are going away! I am feeling way better now than I've ever felt before. Blood sugar is normalized and no numbness. My eyes are even getting better. It was hard at first, changing so many things in my died. I never knew how absolutely horrendous the food that I was eating was. I was slowly killing myself and didn't even know it. But after sticking to it, I am now much better. Make sure to take vitamins and drink lots of water. Great job!

Calm down. Diabetes is diagnosed by lab tests. Get some lab tests done so you'll find out. But first, calm down and go see your doctor.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease [1] that results in destruction of insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Thus far, such destruction has been permanent, but there is informed speculation that reversing the immune system malfunction may allow recovery of beta cell function.[citation needed]. Lack of insulin causes an increase of fasting blood glucose (around 70-120 mg/dL in the healthy people) that begins to appear in the urine above the renal threshold (about 190-200mg/dl in most people), thus connecting to the symptom by which the disease was identified in antiquity, sweet urine. Glycosuria or glucose in the urine causes the patients to urinate more frequently, and drink more than normal (polydipsia). Classically, these were the characteristic symptoms which prompted discovery of the disease.
Type 1 is treated with insulin replacement therapy — usually by injection or insulin pump, along with attention to dietary management, typically including carbohydrate tracking, and careful monitoring of blood glucose levels using Glucose meters.
