Advice...can I exercise while rehabbing from a broken leg?
I've been meaning to talk to my doctor about this but he's tough to get a hold of I was hoping someone with either medical or physical therapy experience could take a shot at this question for me...
I've just finished the first of a three month healing process for an open tib-fib fracture. I'm starting to pull my hair out with boredom and was have starting rowing (with my good leg only ) on my rowing machine. Is this a bad idea? Am I using necessary resources required for my leg to optimally heal or is it OK to continue with some cardio exercise?

Your fine with doing the exercise. Cool thing about working out only one leg or arm is when one side gets stronger the other does to without exercise, not as strong but still, its around 20% I think. Of course if anything you do causes your hurt leg to fee strain than do less of that exercise.
The exercise will promote healing. Stretching your spine and strengthening your core is a good idea.

If you do not feel any pain in the hurt leg then you are fine. I would probably ask the doctor if there are any extra vitamins you should be taking etc or any additives to you diet to help healing, but I think you are okay with what you are doing. You could also lift weights or maybe do sit ups if it does not hurt.

Well, if you're working out only one leg, you could possibly cause a muscle imbalance and whatnot.
