My neighbor tells me that he hates cats and that he has been killing them including kittens. Is this illegal?

He says he baits a trap with food and when he catches one he shoots it in the head with a high powered pellet gun. This has made me stomach sick. I don't know what to do. What would you do?

We had the same problem here but with kids. Called the animal shelter and they said to try to video them doing it so they would have evidence. We were told that since cats aren't required to have license it is hard to get the police involved in it. I agree you need to see if you can find some organization that can help you. I am one of those that feel if you would do it to an animal you would do the same to a human and there is already enough of that going on now.

Are those pals good acquaintances of yours? a million. verify into the extremely some issues that are meant to maintain a cat out of the backyard. there are multiple diverse sprays & issues obtainable. 2. See in the journey that your community has a leash regulation, lots of them do (which is composed of the place I stay). 3. tell the pals relating to the regulation & ask them to delight shop their cat interior. 4. in the event that they gained't do this, call animal administration & enable them to handle it. If the pals could pay an exceptional for letting their cat roam loose, they could think of two times approximately letting it out. i like cats & have 2, yet i do no longer choose cats pooping in my backyard or gardens or killing the birds & squirrels in my backyard. My 2 cats basically pass exterior with my husband or I & we make helpful there are not any birds or squirrels on the floor as quickly as we take the cats out.

That's terrible, even if he is joking do you know that? is it likely that what he's saying is true, personally I'd do a bit of detective work( be discrete) to see if there are any missing cats/kittens and if there are I make a call to the relevant agencies you don't have to give your name or anything just tell them your concerned, it really wouldn't bother me to inform because if he's capable of killing innocent animals its one small step to killing something bigger and he sounds like a right nut case

Call the humane Society immediately. Where do you live?

It is a well known fact that serial killers abused animals before killing their first victim. I would steer clear of this guy and tell your neighbors to make sure they keep their cats inside.

Call the cops and report it to them. Without proof they can't do anything, but it would be on records and they could keep an eye on this guy.

Why do you think that a lot of us preach about NOT letting your cat outside unsupervised....this is a classic example of what can happen to stray or unsupervised cats!

Report him to every authority possible and warn your other neighbors.

You are a good person to stand up for these cats. This person is seriously ill. He may be fantasizing or perhaps not, but the time may come when he moves from cats to children.

    good luck!

Call animal control. To get the number just google "animal control" and your hometown, or you can look in the phonebook or call a shelter/animal welfare group that's close to you (check petfinder.com)

You can lodge a concern anonymously and they will investigate. This is animal cruelty, without question. Kudos to you for being concerned!

Call the cops. This is illegal and the sign of other anti-social or dangerous acts to follow.

It's totally illegal, it's what's called animal abuse. Report him to the police, the humane society and your animal control unit.
