Are you aware of this latest religious persecution?

I would want to check the church web site to find out what they actually put in the mail. However, this is still going on all over the world.

Thoughts and opinions. Keep them respectful please, even in disagreement.

Update:

One of the things that seems to be missed by the naysayers is this: We are told by Jesus that we should go out and preach the Gospel to all nations. Missionaries are doing just that (as all believers should).

The consequences of not following this directive are grave. To the unbeliever, not hearing the Word, and not trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, results in eternal damnation - separation from God.

For the believers who have a chance to share the Gospel and don't, they have a culpability in the condemnation of the unbeliever. They have to live with the loss of unbelieving souls on their conscience.

This is not an isolated incident. We are beginning to see much anti-Christian sentiment predominantly in countries that are predominantly Muslim. Closer to home we are finding it ever more dangerous to stand up for our Christian beliefs. The US is so bogged down in tolerance indoctrination that even when the citizens vote for something, oh let's just say "Prop 8" on the Left coast, that the minority that screams the loudest for tolerance and acceptance, becomes intolerant and violent in their refusal to abide by the majority rule. I know that's a bit off topic, but my point is that we are living in a time when everything evil is good and all things good are evil. There definitely is a famine of the Word of God, otherwise with nearly 4 bibles per household in this country, we either are not reading and studying them, or I believe the most obvious is that as a country we just don't care. May God grant us the strength to endure til the end.

I don't care for missionaries too much. I'll tell you why. They have little respect for the traditions and customs of the people in the places they visit. They provide material assistance to the poor like a fisherman uses bait on a hook. It's all about conversion.

Sure it's not the Inquisition or the Crusades, but the intentions are the same. Why can't religious people be happy with their religions without imposing on others? Muslims and Christians seem to have an insatiable taste for converting non-believers.

I say "Leave me the hell alone"!

I only have one thing to say about save the world missionaries get a real job and mind your own business, they have no business being over there those people do not want to be saved, so I agree with the governments put them all in jail or ban them from entering any country where they spread their religious crap these people are a menace to the world in my opinion.

I am with you in that I would want to understand the nature of the seditious e-mails. It could be this has nothing to do with their religion. Since the information is scant I can not really comment on the story.

I would need to know more before I venture an opinion. The article was very vague about the charges against them.

Just the same, I think it behooves one to be aware of a foreign country's laws before traveling there. So many people seem to think that their own country's civil protections apply in foreign lands. They do not.

besides the shown fact that it somewhat is actual that the founding fathers did no longer desire to compliment one faith over yet another, the reason they did this substitute into generally simply by fact they have been compelled, in England, to undertake the religion of the king. by making u.s. a central authority outdoors of church, they allowed everybody to practice besides the fact that faith they wanted. besides the shown fact that, the main clarification for the founding of many colonies (that later developed into states) substitute into non secular in foundation. Pennsylvania substitute into based by William Penn so as that Quakers could desire to practice loose from the Puritans in Salem. The Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock wrote the 1st governmental rfile, The Mayflower Compact, which later became considerable interior the writing of the form and this rfile substitute into fairly non secular besides as in keeping with hazard being slightly person-friendly experience. So all and sundry who somewhat thinks that our united states substitute into no longer in line with sometype of non secular concepts is improper. Even the Greeks Democratic Republic, which our united states's set up substitute into type after, got here from Greek philosophy which substitute into portion of their non secular practices. stable morals, suited and incorrect, are person-friendly experience. yet while speaking concerning the founding of our united states, we could desire to look in any respect their is - then and now.

Well, the country they were arrested in is a majority-Muslim country, so any religious doctrine against Islam could be interpreted as sedition.

If this happened in America to a Muslim, you can bet groups would be calling it what it is: Persecution.

Unfortunate though this is, it isn't religious persecution. They trod on the toes of a touchy dictatorship.

It's not religious persecution. They simply broke the law.
