Broken wrist itch...?
I just broke my wrist and it's in a temporary soft cast. The broken bone is a small bone. I feel like the bone is poking through by skin, but I know it's not poking through the skin. When I grab the end of the splint with my fingers and pull, it feels like I am scratching the bone, but the bone is still inside my skin. This is my first broken bone, so if this is a simple question, don't call me stupid. Do you know why the "itch" is happening?

I am currently in a cast also. Broke my wrist and displaced it. You can read about it on another post for the chick who "wants" to break something (weird/sick). Anyway mine itches quite often and it's because it's healing. Im going on month 3 and am in my 3rd cast. Trust me that weird bone feeling is normal n the itching is healing. You're fine.
I hope this helped.

Why are you pulling at your splint??? My goodness, knock it off. You could further injure yourself! The itching is likely the irritation from the splint itself or the healing process.
If you are feeling extra pain or seem more swollen, see your doctor for an x-ray immediately.

Blunt ended knitting needle works better than coat hanger. Be very careful though cause the skin under is very moist and brittle, bad place to end up with an open wound, infection breeding ground

it happened to me when i broke my wrist too! it is just the way your bone is growing back together, and you skin is also dry (not being able to use lotion) but don't worry its fine. also y You are a little paranoid but it is okay!
