Question for mature Christians.....?

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like you (and others) were just "playing church"?

Update:

How did you realize it? What did you do? And what came of it?

I'm actually in that situation now. It's obvious because no one is really connected to the song we sing, and no one is really taking heed to the pastor's messages. People look like zombies in church because they are dead spiritually. I am currently digging into the Bible much more, and because I realized that I have to take action for myself in order to prosper, I am drawing closer to God, and allowing my gifts to grow.

Uh, yea!, when I was 10. By 20 I was sure there was no "there" there. Haven't been in a church for a long time. Church is supposed to point the way but it thinks it IS the way. In reality it is a stumbling block on the path, it just traps those who are not committed to the journey. Those who are, move on.

A mature Christian is somebody who is familiar with what they suspect and lives it. they have probably studied the Bible properly and can arise for what they suspect in additionally. I attempt to evaluate greater approximately God's be conscious daily. we're not meant to appreciate if we are mature Christians. persons will probably see it in us, even nonetheless it is not for us to decide for if we are mature or no longer. enable others to decide for. in case you are able to say which you're a mature Christian then you definately are exhibiting delight, this is a sin.

It can be very easy to get into the "habit" of playing church and just going through the motions. Church going should be out of our passion for Christ, not just because we "should" go, or feel obligated too. When a church begins to realize that coming together with brothers and sisters in Christ is the most amazing thing,=where God meets with us, then life begins to flow out of that church. As we worship God together we should be growing in our passion of Him.

O yes definitely. When i go to church and i listen to the teachings but do not obey them...like making time for God and seeking Him..evangelizing etc b. like i go to church alright but the Word of God giving to me I am not using. it goes in and comes out... some of them i do use others i dnt. sometimes i am more interested in seeing my friends than going there for God. sometimes i am not really involved in the activities. That's how i see myself as playing church..i go there alright but it is not always that i go there with the right heart, to come out spiritually build-ed up.

What i do is that i pray to God to help to be more serious for him, mold my heart/mind and take those things or people that are hindering me, out of my life.

I pray He helps me to crucify my self and take up my cross every single day and follow Him wholeheartedly. It is about realizing that it is not about me but Christ.

    God Bless You

Me, there are times when my hearts just not right I go to church because I feel obligated, and then its usually some heart stomping sermon that helps you get your feet back under you and carry on.

Others- sure.. but as far as doing anything, unless they do something that I can show them that they are decieving themselves, theres not alot I can do. Just pray.

If you mean being in a spiritually "dead" church, yes.

It was as if people were going through the motions only. Of course we did not stay.

I think everybody does that @ times.I think it comes down to simple obedience @ times.I can't say God discounts that.
