What's the scariest movie you've seen?

I want to watch a terrifying movie. What's the scariest movie you've watched?

(I like more paranormal type thrillers, but I'm up for anything scary)

Thank you!

Personally, it was Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, but it's because it's just an incredibly weird movie where the main evil character is a direct play on my biggest childhood fear. Between the surrealism and my sort of inner child that movie freaks me out. I will say though that it may not work very well on everybody, though my answer is not the only time I've seen this movie answered to a question like this, and it is more towards the paranormal.

Great flick. David Lynch is a trip.

The scariest (or perhaps more aptly, the CREEPIEST) movie I've ever seen was One Hour Photo with Robin Williams.

Not that the movie in and of itself was particularly terrifying, but rather that it was highly disturbing, and you really don't have to suspend a lot of disbelief to watch the movie (It could totally happen, and it could EASILY happen). It's one of those movies that sticks with you for a while after you've seen it.

A recent movie called Seed. . It is a B movie, but the killing scenes look so real you would swear that they aren't acting. It is very scary and gave me nightmares. Beware before watching though, it is also very disturbing. There are several scenes of torture and animal creulty. Dont watch this if you have a weak stomach.

The scariest one I have saw lately has been The Strangers. Although movies usually don't scare me, this one kind of bothered me because it says its based on true events.

The Saw movies are pretty good, too. If you want something really gory.

Anything Japanese. I think the Japanese version of the Grudge is pretty scary.

The Exorcist is pretty scary and The Shining too(although, that's more weird than scary).

  • The Grudge scared the crap out of me. My ex fiance' would make those sounds just to freak me out. Most movies do not scare me, I don't know why The Grudge did.

    Freaky - The Descent.
