Cat not eating - Vet opinion needed.?
Our 16 years old Female cannot eat. For weeks now, we see that she has some difficulty to swallow and it looks like it's getting worse. When she breath deeply, we hear a growling sound. She constantly swallow her saliva. We don't believe it's an hairball stuck there.
She does not seem to suffer as her behaviour has not changed. She wants to eat but everytime she only take the juice out of the canned food. She drinks normally.
Now she has a serious heart condition that could be fatal if we expose her to extreme stress and going to the vet is going to be extreme stress. So going to the vet means she's going there as last resort and once there, anything more than a pill to take care of something will mean the end. She's overweight (18lbs) so we know she can run on her reserve for a while.
WE want to know if there are benine illnesses that could explain that or should we begin to think that's it's the end.?

She can't run on her reserve. Cats are unable to survive if they are not eating. They develop what is called hepatic lipidosis of fatty liver disease and will die within days of no longer getting any nutrients. A common sign that it is time to let your pet go is when they refuse to eat or drink on their own, since she is still trying but is having a very hard time, it's possible that she has severe gingivitis or a tooth abscess at her age (especially if shes been eating canned food for a longtime). Also, she may have something that is blocking her esophagus party and is keeping her from being able to swallow. This isn't something that you should sit around and wait for because eventually i think she'll stop eating completely. You may think it's too stressful for her to go to the vet, but it may be her only chance at survival.

Dogs do it to its a fluid in the chest that's the growling sound im not a vet sorry but my dog did the same thing and we found out its a heart condition it makes them feel bloated and non active when they breathe its a congested sound she died about a year after. If she's not eating i would say that milk would kind of help but i have a vet and i will e mail her your concerns if i can get a hold of her and see what she thinks I will let you know if I hear anything maybe call your local vet and see what they think! I'm sure it's serious sometimes you just have to let go it will be hard but then you get to get a new kitten! Good luck and i will see what i can find out!!

If your cat can swallow liquids.......put the canned food in your blender and PUREE it....then give it to her to "lap" up. If she still can't or won't eat, the you MUST take her to the vet. She may have something STUCK in her throat.......string, tinsel, ribbon, rubber band, etc.....and she'll die if this isn't taken care of SOON.
Pick her up, give her a toy and put her in her carrier. WRAP the carrier in a large towel, so she can't see where you're taking her. When you get to the vet, don't unwrap her until you're in the exam room...and the vet is already there! This should make the trip / visit less traumatic for her.......since she won't be able to see where she's going.
Hope everything works out for her.........Good luck.

Go shopping for new clothes—wriggling in to 10 pairs of skinny jeans will get your heart rate up.

Sorry, I do not wish to be harsh but you are neglecting your cat. She needs immediate (that means today) veterinary care. How do you know that she is not suffering, she is starving to death!
Cats are masters at hiding pain and illness, please do not let her continue this way, This is just so cruel. I understand that it is stressful for her to see the vet, but she will not improve without care.
good luck!
