Is it fairly easy to find cat-friendly apartments in downtown Washington, DC?

And how expensive? And how carefully do they check?

Update:

No one has yet answered my question... sarcasm not appreciated. I found one example apartment with a one-time $100 cat fee and it is right near GW Law. I just want to know, is such a reasonable fee/allowance common in the city? Or are all the best apartments pet-free?

A little known fact about DC is that cats are outlawed. This is because in 1906 there was a spread of disease that was mainly carried by cats and was harmful to humans.
