You definitely want to rest yourself before they put you on hospitalized bed rest. Especially being so far along in pregnancy. My doctor just told me a few days ago to rest as much as possible so I will be ready to deliver or go through a C-section. It sounds like you might be having problems with your cervix and they want to keep the babies in their longer. But rest, rest, rest because you don't want to go into preterm labor. When I was in the hospital at 23 weeks, I was only allowed to go to the bathroom. I stayed in my room for 5 days before I was allowed to go out, but I was wheeled to the ultrasound room. They kept these leg compressors on my leg that pumped air through these braces that were on my legs to keep constant blood flow to my legs. I also didn't get any sleep while in there. I had doctors and nurses in and out of my room extremely early in the morning. The food wasn't all that great besides I could only eat 3 times a day when I was used to eating whenever I got hungry so I stayed sick because I was starving! I had my husband bring me Subway almost every night when he got off work but by then I had went hours without eating by the time I got that food.
Things you can do:
Watch TV, read books, surf the web, email people, talk on IM, connect with people similar to you on answers (me, I'm resting and don't mind chatting), play online games, knit, crochet, video games, SLEEP, talk on phone, anything! Just stay off your feet as much as possible. Oh and massage your legs to keep the blood flowing. I do small stretching like bring my legs to my belly as far as i can get them. Also keeping your legs elevated helps too.

With Riley i became making waiting for paintings & the Steeler recreation for later that night when I went into hard paintings. i could desire to have a raffle at bedrest with # 3 (when I get preggo) for the reason that i could desire to have a cerclage. relies upon if the cerclage enables me from dialating early. ETA: Awe!! we could desire to get Nina a workstation, STAT!! we will not pass without her for 8+ weeks!

I'm 33 weeks as of today and have been on modified bed rest since week 22. I am bored!!!!! I found this web site yesterday but other than that her are a few things that take up my time:
Keep your lap top with you
I read A LOT
I make out lists of everything
I watch Discovery Health, Animal Planet and National Geographic constantly.
I think of ways to tell my husband how awesome he is. (He has to do EVERYTHING around the house on top of two full time jobs)
All in all find a pregnancy buddie you can chat with so you can discuss common intrests.

I've been on bed rest since 26 weeks (I'm 34 wks now), and I will tell you it's terribly boring. I spend my days on here, on myspace, reading books, crocheting on my baby's blanket that I started months ago, and watching t.v. I like to watch A Baby Story on the TLC channel. There isn't a whole lot you can do. I'm allowed to get up for meals and to go to the bathroom and that is it. Luckily I have 4 dogs to keep me company while my husband is at work.

honestly i was on bedrest between 3-4 times and it lasted like a day. i'd say get books, watch moves/tv, and hopefully have a laptop available. there's really not much to do.

you could try to make a baby blanket if you cant crotchet you could learn. I know when i was pregnant i would watch baby stories and discoveryhealth because they had baby shows on all day. For the restless legs...mary kay makes a calming leg cream maybe that would give you some relief...good luck and congratulations.

Scrapbook, go to the library and pick out some goods books and magazine, puzzle books, watch a movie you've always wanted to see, write a letter to someone, organize a phote album, write in a journal, or knit or sew

i was on modified bedrest at 33 weeks with twins. i was found in preterm labor. i was allowed to shower, eat at the table,,etc. no shopping no working etc. i did ALOT of crossword puzzles, i addressed the announcement envelopes. we were lucky enough to be living at home with my parents so mom and i played ALOT of board games. at that time,,,i slept ALOT. it was summer when i was at the end of my pregnancy,,and i would sit outside in the shade and read or watch the world go by. hard to say but try to enjoy your "time off" as you will not be having it anytime soon. i am pleased to say i went on to have normal healthy happy babies. try to remember the big picture and focus on the end result,,,it is all worth it in the end. (but trust me i know IT SUCKS, but well worth it)
