I've finally found an unbiased news source regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. What about you?
While browsing around for information, I've stumbled across a certain website a couple of times, but never paid it much attention until the last article. It was an article talking about inaccuracy in reporting the fatalities in Gaza and what suprised me was them calling the Hezbollah organization, a known terrorist organization, "Partisan forces". As I read on - I found out this website has a lot of reliable information written in a very unbiased way, as well as plenty criticism about lack of accurate or unabiased reporting in regard to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
I guess this is going to be my new news source - "Commitee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America" or in short - CAMERA.
What do you think of this website? And would you help promote it as well? It's about time there's a website which shows and corrects all the inaccuracies shown in the media nowadays regarding the middle east conflict.
Wise_guy - If anything, my answers are anti-terrorist. If you search through my answers and questions, you'll find out I support Fatah and any other organization who is moderate and/or willing to negotiate peace with Israel. Additionally, I've stated numerous times I feel sorry for the Palestinian population, just as I do about the Israeli civilian population. However, I hold Hamas responsible, after they ruined any chance for peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in 2006.
I was against Israel's policies until 2005. After Israel left Gaza, Hamas kept attacking and refused to negotiate peace. That's when I changed my mind for now. Also, being pro-Israeli at the moment is specifically driven from getting reliable information rather than propaganda.
Wise_guy - What I was refering to is their reports - They're unbiased. They don't believe everything IDF claims, they call the hezbollah "Partisan forces" and so on. I consider it quite unbiased.
If you see anything biased, I'd appreciate if you link me to it.
You gave Gilbert as an example. So you're saying that someone who supports 9/11 and terrorist acts is unbiased in his opinion and is a creditable source?
Misty - This is a website which tries to unbiased. How do you think it would be unbiased if it published lies? Red Cross already admitted that there is no evidence of Israel using white phosphorus against civilians:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5...
And CAMERA did refer to white phosphorus:
http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=2&x_outl...
One last thing - CAMERA.org didn't say anything about Hamas shooting white phosphorus into Israel as well.
Wise_guy - The goal of the website is to actually counter false reporting. If you take a deeper look into the website, you can become a member of the website as well, which makes it quite open source in a way.
Anyways - From what I've seen, unlike most news sources, this website actually digs deep and crunches through facts, numbers, laws etc. You should really take a look into it, no matter which side you are on. And once again - If you find anything unreliable there, do let me know. As I said - I like my media reliable, which is a rare thing.
Mobius - It would be correct to say it's pro-Israeli looking at the titles of the articles, but when looking deeper, you realize they're written in an unbiased way. No blind-belief to either side of the news. Nevertheless, I'm sure you'd agree it's not their fault it's mainly the anti-Israeli side which fabricates lots of lies they have to counter-react on.
Misty - It's completely legal to use white phosphorus if not used against civilian population. Israel admitted this from the very beginning, since it's not a crime.

I found out about this site roughly a week ago. It seems reliable, it brings both sides of the story to attention, and my favorite part about it is that it isn't agenda driven like FOX or the Hamas-favoring BBC. I'll definitely do all I can to promote this site and bring it to the attention of the American people.

Palestinians should have it because its theirs Israelis should have it because they were promised it by god in a book written by man The Palestinians should have it because its theirs Israelis should have it because the Palestinians are opressing them so much Palestinians should have it because the Israelis are killing innocent palestinians just because they felt like it. Israel should have a small portion of it because the UN gave them a small portion of it Palestinians should have the rest of it because that was the original agreement Also im reading some of these answers...wow, how wrong could people be. I wish the news would at least show where the palestinians are comming from when they suicide bomb and that only about .1% of palestinians are hostile. Also, one more thing (lots of editing). Jews should not be answering this question because they have the bias of being jewish and being raised "knowing" that the Israelis are always right. I'm not saying their not entitled to their opinion, its just that they are giving biased answers and not even answering his question by only giving the Israeli side.

You didn't notice anything about that site? There was not even the slightest criticism of anything re the Israeli's.Nothing, nada not even the phosphorous. In a truly unbiased site there is acknowledgment of at least some faults,no one is perfect, but no.You have low standards in seeking out impartiality.
That Red Cross report was early days and was as far as they knew without investigating.Fact remains they have now admitted using it and should have from day one because the treatment of Phospherous burns is the opposite to normal burns and by witholding the truth they have cost excessive suffering to those burned by these weapons.Where is that in your unbiased report?
Where do they address the fact that these bombs were set off at much lower heights than normally used as witnessed on film, thus ensuring more casualties?
You can spin all you like but the truth will out.
The difference is they were using them as weapons in densely populated civilian areas , as is evident from the films emerging of the UN school attack and the fact that they are being investigated now for war crimes.I note you did not address my point that the Israelis deliberately lied about using it and this caused excessive suffering.Had they admitted it the medics would have treated the patients accordingly but time and time again they lied.Indeed if one other thing apart from the wanton killing and destruction stands out it's the unending list of callous lies.Mossad's Motto is about conquering through deceit. No surprise there then.
Actually I've had a look at the history of camera and it's evident that this is just a arm of the Zionist lobby group that bedevils American politics. It was set up to directly counter criticism of Israel which means it started off biased from the word go.If a media source is truly impartial you would get people from either side of the fence lauding it,that isn't apparent here.

In all candor, it is a pro-Israel site. But it is excellent in its pointing out factual errors in media reporting.
The issue of inaccuracy in reporting fatalities is not new to this conflict. The Israeli incursion into Jenin a couple of years back was labeled a "massacre" of 1,500 civilians. When all the dust settled, it emerged that there were 54 Palestinian fatalities, the vast majority of them militants. It will be interesting to see how the real numbers in this Gaza incursion turn out. Pallywood is alive and well.
CAMERA makes a very good analysis of the implications of the statistics. Though I think they could also make more of the number of women fatalities - 78 out of more than 1000 total. If Israel was indiscriminately shelling civilian targets, how come only 7% of the fatalities are women?? Fact is, most of the fatalities are fighting age males, including many 15-17 year olds who are labeled "children". This is just as true of the 2000 Intifada - only about 5% of Palestinian fatalities are female. In fact, more Israeli females were killed in the Intifada than Palestinian females - precisely because Israelis target combatants (mostly males) while suicide bombers target civilians, randomly male or female. The numbers prove the case.
More people should know about this.
Edit- Yes, Al, I agree that there are a lot more lies and fabrications coming from the anti-Israeli side.

I believe that we can't put blind faith in any particular news source.
Like any news source, we have to make a judgement on each piece of information, each time we read. We need to read widely, from many sources and think critically.
Regarding this site, I would view it with an open mind, but with some skepticism due to its political mission.

One thing that I can say about President OBAMA being elected as President, America sure have become more political whereas before, many could care less about what was going on around the world.....AND something else, we are becoming smarter AMERICANS in the process......That is a GOOD THING.......

To answer your question, the website you have referred to "CAMERA" is so biased against Arabs. I found this website to be the fairest about the conflict
http://www.electronicintifada.net/
I encourage you all to check it

Scientific looking site. Thanks. Bookmarked.
The E.U. is going to get an increasing amount of Middle East related numbers and analyze them. More of the truth will emerge but also more central control.
