Electrical short in my Ford Escape?

Anybody have an idea on this one? I have a 2001 Ford escape (6 cylinder) and twice tonight, with the vehicle off and key out of the ignition, the parking lights have come on accompanied by a whining sound. The only recent issue or maintenance was an alternator replacement about 2 weeks ago, and my airbag light came on about a week ago. I currently have the battery disconnected until I can figure out whats up, any input would be helpful

I would take this vehicle to the dealership. It sound like the ignition has shorted out. There is a change the vehicle may catch on fire. They have the equipment to check it out. Or you can take it to a company that handler electric problems. Good luck.

Could be a short in the key-less entry or alarm system.
