Thick skinned means you arent' as affected by other peoples remarks. where as a thin skinned person would take things personally and easily get upset.

I always thought being told you were thick-skinned meant that you didn't take put downs, sarcasm, nastiness or others stupid comments to heart. That they kinda seem to just roll of your back.
