cats pooping on the bed, help!?

after moving a bed into the "cat room" and adding a bigger bed in my daughters room my cat or cats, we have 2, have pooped on the daughters bed once and the bed in their room 3 times. there are 3 litter boxes in the cat room and they are faithfully changed out. i know that its a shock to the norm, but there has to be a way to correct this behavior. any help greatly appreciated. thanks!!!

When I saw "My cat pooped on my bed?" is made me smile lol. Well the common reason would be that the cat is not happy with the litter box. The most common cause that nobody thinks about it that cats have very sensitive noses. Try changing the litter to something that is less harsh. There are natural non fragrant litters out there. My cats like the Tidy Cats Carbon Litter , which is fragrant but it works great! What kind do you use? I want to say that there is litter that still clumps but it is made from recycled material. When they kick up that dust it can really hurt their noses. ALSO. My cat Daisy does not like the lid on the litter box. If you have one on try taking it off first. She wouldn't use it ever. It is like she is scared of the dark. The second I took it off she went right in there and did her business, never had a problem again. So. 1st Check if it is blocked, too high or in a weird place (even next to something that is really loud) 2nd Try taking the lid off 3rd Change the litter 4th If all else fails she might be sick take her to the vet Hope I helped. If you need any clarification or extra help let me know. Angel

hey my cat got into the habit of doing this too, because they can sort of dig in the quilt covers,

you can buy this spray that you sray on areas where you dont want your cat to pee/poo from the vet or pet shop

also try changing the location of the litter tray and the brand of litter you put in there, some cats are really fussy. Use catnip for the places where you do want them to go

    good luck!

It sounds stress/territory related. Try using a Feliway diffuser (available at pet stores) to help calm the cat's anxiety. These have worked wonders with stressed cats.

dont let the cat in you daughters room and take the bed out of the ,,Cats Room´´

  • it does sound like their room has been invaded...I think they are p*issed (no pun intended..lol) and so they are retaliating against your new room idea. You might have to go to petco and find some products to spray your beds with to keep them off until they can get use to the idea. Good luck.

Source(s): Please spay and neuter your pets please!! We are already over populated with homeless animal and hundreds of thousands are being put to sleep today....tomorrow and so on. This is not counting the ones being ran over by cars......

The only thing I can suggest is that they are putting their scent on the bed, marking their territory or they don't like it. Put a pee pad down when you're not home just a tip.

Don't do anything abusive like yell or hit (which i can tell you won't)...
