Would you know a heresy if you met one?

At the very beginning of its decree on ecumenism, Vatican II teaches that almost everyone longs for a truly universal Church whose mission is to convert the world to the Gospel. What is the truly universal Church whose mission is to convert the world to the Gospel? It is the Catholic Church, of course, which alone is the one true Church of Christ. So what is Vatican II talking about then? Why is Vatican II teaching that almost everyone longs for one the truly universal Church of Christ when we already have it? What Vatican II is teaching at the very beginning of its decree on ecumenism is that people must long for the true Catholic Church because it does not yet exist! It is teaching that the true Church of Christ – the universal Catholic Church – does not yet exist! For those who doubt that Vatican II was here denying that the Catholic Church exists we will quote Antipope John Paul II’s own interpretation of this passage.

Vatican II was therefore denying that the Catholic Church is the one universal Church of Christ. That is a slap in Christ's face. It is a heresy.

Update:

The Bull "Unam Sanctam," Nov. 18, 1302, of Pope Boniface VIII, 1294-1303 is forcing: "With Faith urging us we are forced to believe and to hold the one, holy, Catholic Church and apostolic,...outside of which there is no salvation nor remission of sin." A Bull is the most forcing papal decree there is. It is absolutely de fide.

Pope Paul IV, Apostolic Constitution of Feb. 15, 1559. His pontificate was highlighted by promotion of moral reforms. This Papal Bull focused on the validity of a prelate or Pope in the event they were in heresy or apostasy:

"1...We have been weighed upon by...a matter ... [i.e. error in respect of the Faith] is so grave & so dangerous that the Roman Pontiff,... may be contradicted if he be found to have deviated from the Faith. The provisions of this Constitution, ...is to remain valid in perpetuity. No one...may infringe on this document. If anyone...attempt this he shall incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.

Update 2:

Veritas has not read the Bull of Boniface VIII nor of Paul IV. Until then, the heresies he reads are a matter of being brainwashed and being deprived of evidence.

Update 3:

It is the holy popes Boniface VIII and Paul IV who are calling Wojtyla an anti-pope.

Update 4:

Now lets hear what names you call Boniface VIII and Paul IV? Altogether now...

Update 5:

Ah, I thought so. Devoid of intelligence. Aren't these your popes? Whatsamatter? Cat got your tongue? Ever know the history of your Church? Or is all you know the heretical Council V2? No wonder you are lost. You want false ecumenism, "let's have no doctrine at all," "let's all have religious liberty and believe anything we want." Fine heresies, but old ones and long ago given anathemas by previous popes which you now deny. And you call yourself "catholic" besides! This is anathema and you are in great danger following the errors of the Novus Ordo Church.

Update 6:

John Paul II, Homily, Dec. 5, 1996, speaking of prayer with non-Catholics: “When we pray

together, we do so with the longing ‘that there may be one visible Church of God, a

Church truly universal and sent forth to the whole world that the world may be

converted to the Gospel and so be saved, to the glory of God’ (Unitatis Redintegratio, 1.).”

Here John Paul II himself confirmed that the longing for one visible Church of Christ is longing on both sides, Catholic & non-Catholic, which means that in its Decree on Ecumenism (from which John Paul II was quoting), Vatican II was indeed longing for the one universal Church of Christ. Vatican II was therefore denying that the Catholic Church is the one universal Church of Christ.

Update 7:

Gerty can't read, the question started with "Would." No wonder she can't spot a heresy.

Collette: the Novus Ordo Imposter Church has much in common with atheists. They don't wanna convert you.

Bill C: Many of the teachings of the Imposter Church contradict scripture. But not the

True Church of the Apostles which opposes the Imposter Church of Vatican II.

Veritas: Knows so little he thinks Wojtyla is God. Blasphemy only applies to divine

insult, for which the cure is not the Sacrament of Penance. So little he knows. Never read a de fide Canon in his life.

Update 8:

One has to conclude from the contributors here that they are unable to defend their

position. The major wins: heresy abounds in the Imposter Church of Vatican II.

Deceptive forms of argument used in rebuttal to hide the truth about the V2 belief

system. No one said that their people were mean or evil but that their popes are heretics

whose written words & actions are public. Members of the heretical church cannot

defend from any known doctrinal position. No tradition exists for heresy. But in fact Our

Lord can be quoted as to St. Peter's heresy, "Get thee behind Me." Peter repented. It

proves that Christ would tolerate no heretic in His Church. His Church is the same today

as always, One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic. It contains no heresy. Come join the

Church of Christ to which you wish to belong. Leave the heretical doctrine of the false

Church which starves souls of grace and salvation. The Sacraments were permanently

defined at Trent and may not be changed af

Your misinterpretation is ASTOUNDING! To call Pope John Paul ll an anti-pope is pure blasphemy to say the least. Go to confession/Mass today and get off your delusional hate trip.

edit: Perhaps you are right about my misuse of blasphemy with regard to a Pope, I concede. Maybe I have not read the Bull of Boniface (maybe I have) but I have read a lot of your BULL! You seem hell-bent on driving a wedge into the Church! Your rants have a spirit of hate the likes of which I have only thus far seen with the militant neo-darwinists.

You are, no doubt 'scholarly,' however, I have read many scholarly atheistic rants on R&S also. I don't know who scares me more, you or them.

Ah. Catholic extremists. Such an entertaining yet rare breed.

God forbid people listen to mass in their own language, or the Pope finally admit the reality of the Jews not being responsible for Christ's death.

I applaud the church for the reforms of Vatican II.

Many of the teachings of your church contradict scripture. Isn't that heresy?

  • 1 decade ago

Yes. I can spot a heretic a mile away, starting with 'you'!! (Why now, is it that your 'pope' is accepting Evolution??) A double-minded person is unstable in all his way!!

I don't care. And I don't see an actual question in that rant.

Catholicism itself is a heresy - a mutilated, retrofitted, corrupted derivative of Christianity, synthesized both to please and to legitimize a specific, opportunistic, Pagan Roman emperor.
