LDS and Posthumus baptism?
I have no desire to be baptised LDS after I'm dead. I really find that disturbing. Isn't that a desecration? How does one opt out of such a thing while one is still alive?

15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question for my muslimah friends?
I'm writing a novel in which two of the characters are Jordanian Muslims. They are having a dinner with several of their non muslim (and in once case non human) friends. Would my muslimah character wear her hajib while in her home having dinner with her friends or would she not?
Forgive my ignorance. I would respectfully like to know. I would like for my characters to be as realistic as possible, even though the story is set on a 25th century space station :D
Thank you
6 AnswersRamadan1 decade agoA question for my Muslimah friends?
Do you wear the hajib strictly out in public or do you wear it at home too?
The character I'm writing about is Jordanian if that helps. She and her friends are coming over for dinner so I am unsure whether she'll wear it or not.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you like about LDS?
Yeah I know i disagree with their theology, but there are things that I really do admire about the LDS, such as how strong a connection they have with their families and how they are close to their religious community and how much they participate. I also like the idea of storing up foods and other supplies in case of financial lack.
What do you like about the LDS?
Please be positive.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAn Islam question Respectful answers please.?
Okay, not too long ago I mentioned writing a science fiction novel about a futuristic space station. A Jordanian couple reside there. They are going to attend mosque, but from what I understand about Islam (and it's limited) they should face Mecca when they pray.
So. How do do they do that when they're light years away from earth? I thought it over last night and the logistics of this is complicated.
Could someone give me some insight into this?
thank you.

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould I offend Muslims if I wrote about a loving Muslim couple?
yes I know it's a silly question but I have to ask. I'm writing a science fiction novella set in the future. One of the characters is a forensics expert who is also a Muslim Jordanian. Would would it be offensive to have a Muslim portrayed as a forensic patholigist. The reason I'm asking is that he performs autopsies.
