What does the Bible actually say we must do to be saved?

Since there are a lot of folks making the following statements teaching them as Gospel and the way to be saved..

Where and what does the bible say about these statements?

Just believe.....What then about repentance? Can we be saved without repentance? The what else must we do to be saved?

Say the "sinners prayer"

"Accept Jesus as your personal savior." Does the bible atually say that? Chapter and verse please. It's not in the bible.

Since God's love is unconditional you don't have to do anything. Please show us in the bible where it says God's Love is Unconditional? It's not there.

Some say, "It's what in your heart that counts." Sounds good but does the bible say that? No

Some say, "Repentance is a work so you don't have to repent." See if you can find that in the bible.

Some say, "Just be a good person. " What does the bible actually say we must do to be saved?

It amazes me folks say they are Christains but form and accept many opinions/teachings ignoring majority of scripture that qualifies Salvation.

Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD of God.

If we are to live by every word of God how is it we can live or be saved by things not found written in the bible or by one scripture taken out of context?

The bible warns: Pro 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

If we change the Word of God which is TRUTH and twist or bend it in order to discount it to fit or suit our fancy are we not liars?

Or if we throw much of it over our shoulders ignoring the majority of its passages while accepting only a few to suit our purpose do we lie to fool ourselfs.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

So again I will ask one last time.....What does the Bible actually say we must do to be saved?

Update:

How is that some of you guys say the way to be saved is found in the book of Romans.....Since it was written to those who had already been saved.

You seemingly are ignorant to the scriptures that are the fullfillment to ones being born again of the Water and the Spirit.

If the Jehovah's Witness will ever study that there's no longer something that we can do to benefit our salvation, no volume of works that come from us will do it. We in basic terms won't be able to, you could love God with all your coronary heart and soul. you could love your neighbor all day long and that's solid, besides the incontrovertible fact that it won't purchase you your salvation. They tried and tried all for the period of the previous testomony, by utilizing attempting to obey the guidelines, yet they could no longer do it. The JW's believe they could OBEY, OBEY what? And once you stumble on that no remember how stressful you attempt you in basic terms won't be able to do it. Then will you realize that there's no longer something, truthfully no longer something which you're able to do to benefit your salvation. believe and believe, the two those words are interchangeable with one yet another. that's what you might have, faith. And BAR, in case you may take a suitable understanding of the Bible you may understand that believing and being baptized are one and an identical. The Baptism is the outward sign of your perception. on an identical time as inward sign is your faith. as quickly as you have this alteration of techniques and alter right into a real believer in Jesus, you're sealed with the Holy Spirit. The Bible and pious fraud...

Pious fraud was a common technique employed by early Christian writers to make a point. Their intention was to convert anyone and everyone by any means available. One of the more persuasive methods was to write a text and falsely tell others that it was written in first person. For example, the four canonized gospel tales were not written by Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. That has been a well known fact for about 200 years. And to this day, no one knows who the gospel stories were written by. These texts are perfect examples of pious fraud. Pious fraud is the foundation of the deception known as Christianity and it continues to this day.

During the first couple of centuries of the Common Era the early Christian priestcraft, which would eventually become the early Catholic fathers, were in the process of assimilating religions from all over Europe. Ultimately the new religion become known as the Christian religion, or more accurately The Catholic Church. The Bible was put together by hundreds of people who were either at the head of the fraud or were pawns in its assembly. Once the original languages were translated into Latin, it was only a matter of time before the original language nuances could be discarded. Ever wonder why it was punishable by death to read the Bible during the Middle Ages? Punishable by death by the common folk to read it, that is. Well, the reason was that the priestcraft was well aware of the errors, inconsistencies and flat-out lies that riddled the Bible. If the common man found out, it could have been the death of the Church's authority, power and control over the masses. And since the original languages are rarely, if ever, used by those who read the Bible (well, those who actually READ it), the fraud is perpetuated.

When a pious fraud is knowingly perpetuated in the name of power and money, you have deception. Remember, 1700-2000 years ago, when these texts were being assembled into a 'new testament', the vast majority of humanity was illiterate. Science was not known. Demons rules the world. Anything could be put forth and said to be 'absolute truth' when it was in fact, completely fraudulent.

What is the implication of this? The implication is self-evident. The story of Genesis, that Christian proselytizers love to advance (altho it is part of the much older Jewist texts), is a complete and utter forgery. In that story we are led to believe that there was a single god who created the earth, etc. in 6 days. Not only has science proven the timeline to be completely false, the religious aspect is a complete fabrication. At the time that the Genesis story was supposed to have been written the Hewbrew people were not monotheistic. That's history. They believed in many gods and Genesis proves it. The story actually goes back to before the Hebrews were a distinct people-it is not Hebrew in origin.

You must repent ( to God, not your priest or minister), and truly mean it, to repent is to confess and apologize for your sins and to change yourself from that point on so as not to do it again. You must be baptized in Jesus' name, not a sprinkle of water, you have to be completely submerged and it has to be in his name not his titles. You must receive the gift of the holy spirit with evidence by speaking in tongues. You receive this gift by worshiping wholeheartedly and unashamed and turning yourself over to Jesus. Acts 2:38

None of these things have anything to do with SALVATION.

There is only one way to receive salvation:

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

The rest that you quote from Scripture merely refer to how a believer ought to live as a saved person.

All the Bible works together. It's all about obedience to God.We must hear, believe, repent,be baptized in jesus name, receive the holy ghost, and strive to live a holy life before God.we can't just choose what we like and leave the rest. there is no "sinner's prayer" in the Bible per se.

So again I will ask one last time.....What does the Bible actually say we must do to be saved?

There are two parts to the answer to your question. The first part has to do with God's sovereign election.

John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out...43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves. 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

We have to answer God's call to faith, a gift that He gives us.

Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The second part is that God holds us accountable as moral agents to receive the gift and calling that He places on our lives to be saved.

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Again the process of salvation is not divorced from God's enabling. Saying a prayer that God has not initiated the faith for, or living by every word of God without new life in Christ doesn't save a person. Those are human activities that without divine power have no saving grace in them.

    Romans 10:9-13. (With a sincere heart!) :)

Bible salvation refers to redemption from sin through the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation refers to the Gospel. The book of Romans is an orderly presentation of the doctrine of salvation.

The need for salvation. (1) God is holy and punishes sin (Ro. 1:18). (2) Man is sinful and has broken God's law (Ro. 1:19--3:18). (3) Nothing man can do can earn him God's favor (Ro. 3:19,20).

The way of salvation. Salvation is the free gift of God's eternal blessing through the atonement of Jesus Christ. It is offered to all who will believe on Christ (Ro. 1:16,17; 3:22-30; 4:3-8,24; 10:8-13). It is through faith ALONE and grace ALONE, not by any admixture of grace and law, faith and works (Ro. 4:13-16; 11:6).

The preaching of God's holiness and righteousness and man's fallen condition and need of repentance precedes and prepares the way for the preaching of the Cross.

Repentance means more than to change from disbelief to belief. It means more than sorrow or regret or despair or grief. It means more than a mere change of mind about sin. It is more than praying a sinner's prayer to obtain a ticket to Heaven. Repentance is a supernatural work of God whereby a responsive sinner, being convicted by the Holy Spirit of his rebellion, turns to God from his sinful ways and trusts Jesus Christ for salvation (2 Tim. 2:25; Jn. 16:8; Acts 11:18; 26:20). Bible repentance is a change of mind toward God that results in a change of life. Bible repentance is to turn to God from sin, idolatry, and error.

Acts 20:21. "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."

This verse summarizes Paul's preaching and the true gospel message: repentance toward God and faith in Christ. The sinner must repent about his disobedience toward God and exercise faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ for his sin. Repentance and faith is not the same thing. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Savior"

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation is a gift from God. A gift is not yours untill you accept it.

The security of salvation. The believer is (1) declared righteous (Ro. 5:1), has peace with God (Ro. 5:1), has a new standing in grace (Ro. 5:2), has assurance of eternal salvation (Ro. 5:2,9,10), enjoys God's watchcare (Ro. 5:3,4), has the earnest of the Holy Spirit (Ro. 5:5).

The place of works in salvation. Faith, and faith alone, is the door into God's wonderful salvation. Having been forgiven and blessed with eternal blessings in Christ, we begin to serve God with a thankful heart--not in order to be saved, not in order to perfect our salvation, but because we are already saved (Ro. 6-8).

Why would Paul say the following if the gospel is not taught in the book of Romans?

    Rom 1:15-16

15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
