The End is Near! What do you think of this Spiritual joke ;-) ..?

THE END IS NEAR!!

A Baptist preacher and a Methodist pastor from two local churches are standing by the side of the road, feverishly pounding a hand-made sign into the ground.

The sign reads:

THE END IS NEAR

TURN AROUND NOW

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

As a car speeds past them, the driver yells, "Leave us alone, you religious wackos!"

From the curve, they hear screeching tires and a big splash.

The Methodist turns to the Baptist and asks, "Do you think the sign should just say 'Bridge Out'?"

Update:

Theone, we are made in Gods image, knowing this, we know he has a sense of humour, get over your own being pious and laugh!

Update 2:

Laugh Out Loud Pastor Bill, That was a joke on it's own!

Update 3:

Love that Angel!

Jon J ; is that 3 ha's out of ? -3? :-D

Update 4:

Ta Rasta, ... you don't have to be a believer to enjoy and smile at the funny stupidity of both parties!

To try n B politically corret, ..It's just a joke and no one is stupid.

Update 5:

Oh lighten up some of you on both sides.

Last time I looked in the mirror, I laughed too, but not because I was the AntiChrist!

Your like on R&S a Bunch of stiffs, do you honestly live like this?

Where ever do you find humour?

The Good Word says in Psalms...He laughs from the Heavens.

You know, it's Ok to laugh, atheist, christian, religous, agnostic etc.

I think it is poignant after the small chuckle.

I've heard it before and it comes into the category of jokes which attract a polite titter from the congregation during a sermon, after which the preacher turns round fiercely and makes a point which hammers home because people had relaxed and laughed for a moment. Jesus used humour (much of which is lost to us in our translations of the Bible) and anecdotes to illustrate His teaching. There are several possibilities here:

    1) Sometimes when we need to hear something vital we allow our own prejudice to get in the way. Just because you don't agree with someone, this doesn't mean that he hasn't sometimes something important to say!

    2) Our ministers are not always able to get their point over clearly

    3) While people scorn the warnings of Christians about the end times, for many of them their own encounter with the Lord is nearer than they would suspect...

    Yes, a very usable joke!

I just know that God had a sense of humor - every time I look in the mirror.

I liked it. It looks like the people in the car got baptized instead of sprinkled.

    Good one!

I can't remember if it's Peter or Paul who recommends using "convenient humor"
