Christians (anyone welcome) how do you explain the similarities?

I think you wasted your valuable time trying to throw some light here judging by the responses. Nobody is interested in finding the answers themselves if you notice. They are all keen to rush to pick a side and viciously defend it. I continue to be amazed at the vitriol that is spilled here in the name of the sympathetic God and various versions of 'my way or the highway'. All religions were an attempt by disparately spread populations to keep their communities accountable, conforming and in control. Therefore, we are bound to see similarities. It is even said that during Jesus' yondering days, he had been to India in his own personal quest for answers. Maybe there was an exchange there.

Now you see why research is so important, any time someone says here believe this check it out for yourself. These similarity are well known in the theological community, and still Christians believe as they do. Have you read books by, S. Acharya "Suns of God " explains just what you are reveling.

The sad thing is their superstition is so strong that they will not allow themselves to accept the truth, because their entire lives and and emotional connections are based on the fable. They will go so far as to say you must be possessed, by their made up Satan. Good luck.

Sorry but the similarities don't interest me.

The only thing that I can say is that the Bible has been written, re-written, translated from ancient texts containing words which there are no known translations for, and then entire books were never entered and entire books were removed and/or replaced by the Catholic church in their attempt to frighten the people into control.

At that time, mostly before the reformation, the Church was the government as well as a very strict moral mandate in which to live your life by. Why? because it was in the governments (churches) best interest to keep the masses under control and obliged to them.

All this being said however,

I still believe in God. The mistakes and crimes of man shouldn't be allowed to keep me from my creator.

Well, I got rid of the middle man, ....the organized Church.

I want to commune with my creator on a one to one basis.

I don't want anyone preaching to me about what I should be talking to my God about.

I sought a personal relationship.

I found it 17 years ago and it's the cornerstone of my life.

I believe solace, peace, love and beauty can be found in whatever way somebody wants or chooses and I respect that.

Believing and having faith in Jesus Christ is my way of obtaining peace and enables me to utilize a framework for moral behavior that I admire. You have to like yourself first before you can love others and the way I believe has led me towards that path.

Kamsa released Devaki and Vasudeva,..... and they lived in Mathura,...now you people donno where jesus have been for 18 years,...but we know where Krishna had been since his birth 2 death,....

They shouldn't have to explain it or defend what they believe unless they are Christian supremacists, to whom this bit has obviously been addressed. They are the ones causing trouble, so don't just randomly attack all Christians for the beliefs of the stupid few who happen to yell the loudest.

Most Christians are fully aware that the Bible is errant and take Jesus' message without claiming that the entire thing is faultless and everyone else is going to hell. They don't need to explain or refute those statements because most of them believe that the Bible is just a guide, and the only truly important thing they need to take from it is "Love thy neighbor as thyself."

Next time, address such a lesson to Christan supremacists who attack other religions and beliefs, oppress atheists, gays, and everyone else that doesn't fit in with their narrow minded view, and not to just "Christians."

Not making sense is not a good enough reason to attack someone's beliefs. Until they start hurting others (which only some Christians do), it doesn't matter how absurd their beliefs seem. In an ideal world, a person should be able to worship a purple robot with pink polka dots and green feathers, and as long as they are not hurting anyone, they should be treated with respect.

All this does is turn the peaceful Christians, of which there are many, against everyone else and encourage extremism and supremacy.

All religions and beliefs have some form of the Truth. Even atheists, although they deny it. Most atheist believe that killing for food or a spouse is wrong. Animals don't have a problem with this at all--they will kill when they need to and it doesn't bother them at all. They will even kill their babies if they have too.

Why are we so bothered by this? It's because God wrote Truth on ALL human hearts. The Truth permeates space AND TIME. It is no surprise, then, that the pagan beliefs and stories will have similarities to Jesus and other biblical events.

make no mistake, they are but shadows of the Truth. You can use all the logic you want, and you can use logic to make black look white, but it doesn't change the Truth. Not one bit.

I would like to ask you something though. What do you make of the Book of Revelation? Frankly speaking, that part of the Bible is what kept me on as a Christian.

Jesus aside, so even the Old Testament is made up? Or you at least do you still think that it's possible that Jehovah God is real?

Man, you might have done a lot of research on Christianity, but not on Krishna of Hindu religion which is the religion of 85% of people in India, the country of my origin. Ok let me start from what I as well as other Indians have read from holy books of Hinduism

1. Principal sources of Krishna's life are the Mahabharat, Bhagavat Geetha, Harivamsa, Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana

2.Krishna was never called as "son of god", but he is called god, like tens of thousands of other gods in Hinduism.

3)Krishna is never a part of Hindu trinity, which includes Bhrama (the creator), Vishnu and Shiva (Shiv or Shivan). Vishnu had 10 avatars and Krishna and his elder brother Balarama were two of them.

4) Krishna's adoptive father was a cowherd, not a carpenter.. Krishna's real father was Vasudevar, the prince of Yadhav dynasty, not a spirit or ghost.

5) Krishna's uncle, Kamsa wanted to kill all the children of Vasudevar so he imprisoned Krishna's parents. Only Krishna was secretly moved from prison to his adoptive parents. Krishna's parents didnot fled to Mathura, but were in prison until Krishna killed his uncle Kamsa.

6) Krishna have danced over a serpent's head thus bruising its head, In Genesis 3:15 it says "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” It means God creating enimity between man and serpent. Jesus didnot bruise any serpants head.

7) your points 58 and 66 have no evidence what so ever!! Krishna was never said as sinless in any of the above books. He killed his own uncle and a young monk, Hindu scriptures gives accounts of Krishna's sexual relationship with 16108 milk women, and he was the mentor behind Kurukshetra war, and he even justified the murdering of his own cousins and relatives for a good cause.

8) All divine beings in every religion are considered as omniscient or omnipotent or omnipresent, performing miracles.

9) No mention of Krishna healing a lepar in any of Hindu holy scriptures!!

10) Krishna never had disciples, only worshippers. No evidence again for Krishna celebrating his last supper. He never forgave his enemies, he was infavour of killing his cousins (Kauravas) who were his enemies.

11) Krishna was neither ascended or descended according to hinduism. He was killed inside a forest by a hunter by mistake

12) And Finally, Krishna's mother was never a virgin. She had seven children by her husband, before the birth of Krishna

The Bible(s) have been written by the view of the writer not by you or me which is likely to have a different interpretation again. We could read the same book (not necessary the bible) mate and we will interpreted differently. The bible is written from memory not as it happened. You should take a look at Buddha or spiritualism, it takes a different view in beliefs.

Who would want to crucify Krishna?? And what offense? If he was lecherous enough, I suppose he is worthy of crucifixion XD

Im sure Jesus isnt like that.
