What is this sensation I am feeling in my damaged finger?
In 1997 I was a little kid and I was hanging from a shelf in my parents closet when I placed my finger on a nail and it ripped open a centimeter of my finger. I have always had a deep scare there and a solid mass below the scar (I never got stitches). In the last three days I have felt this weird pain in the scar. I don't know how to describe the pain but it isn't sharp or a tingle. If you are a male, it feels like the sensation you get when you first give yourself a testicular exam. It is this super uncomfortable feeling which is happening around the clock and actually is hindering me from doing work. I just want to rip out my finger... What is causing this, I can't get a doctors appointment for a month, any clues PLEASE

Is it a phantom itch - like some people have when they lose a limb and the nerve endings are sending confused messages.

Could be an infection - though, it is more than 10 years since the accident, so that makes it kind of unlikely.
Maybe you're focusing on it too much? Take some Ibuprofen or some Acetacylic Acid (Aspirin, Ecotrin) for now. If your finger starts to bruise dark or green/yellow or become ballooned (or even blistered), call your doctor or head over to a walk-in clinic.

it's most likely an old nerve injury and you have developed a neuroma. You should see an Orthopaedic surgeon, they may be able to inject it or operate on it.
