Effects of semen ingested if I am breastfeeding?
I gave my husband oral sex for the first time today since having our daughter 13 days ago. I am breastfeeding and I know that anything I ingest has some sort of effect on her feeding experience so forgive me if this is a silly question but is there any negative effect(s) from swallowing my husbands semen if I am exclusively breastfeeding?

Here is what you do to your Husband for making you worry when you have pregnant brain... Give him that legendary opportunity to taste your breast milk. He'll think he's won the lottery and will boast to all of his friends. Then, in a month, as he's about to have intercourse with you for the first time since giving birth, or when the guys are over, simply explain that he drank traces of love cheese and liked it, and you suspect he likes the taste man drippins. Let's see if he is still in the mood after that.

I'm sure there are positive effects on your husband :)
but as far as the baby goes, nah.
There isn't much to it, really--a few little vitamins and minerals, a little protein, a hormone or two...I don't see how it would affect a baby by the time you've digested it and made milk.
Some compounds, like the sulfur compounds in onions and garlic, just pop out of your skin practically unchanged from when you eat them. You breathe them out, you sweat them out, you pass them to the baby through milk. Sometimes, babies don't dig those strong flavors in milk.
But I don't think swallowing a little dab o' "baby batter" will cause too much of a ruckus.
For the baby, I mean.

There would be no bad side-effects, and maybe even some good ones.
Semen contains zinc which you would be a bit deficient in since you are breastfeeding.

Jesus, I am sorry, not to disrespect, but you really need to spend some time on the internet studying this subject in general. Many chemicals can go into breastmilk and some medications. Semen is not a issue. That is a natural substance. Protein and fluid.
Be more concerned about hormones from cow milk and meat going thru your breastmilk or chemicals in Cheetos. Eat right and Mother Nature takes care of the rest.
Also, 13 days after birth of the child?!? Tell your man to take care of himself for awhile-this time is about the NEWBORN not him. He could make you a meal so you can try and nap in that same amount of time.
Yeah on the breastfeeding though. You've made it past the first few days, which is when many quit.
Good luck

hehehe, what a cute question... Sometimes when I'm drinking juice while she's nursing I imagine the juice going from my mouth down my throat and out my boob. That's just not the case though. It's gotta go through the stomach and intestines and stuff. It gets digested like anything else. No negative effects for the babes. : )
