Does Fox News selectively edit quotes to suit their political agenda?

Fox shows clip of Obama saying:

(In a conversation about qualified candidates to be appointed to the supreme court)

"I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles, as an essential ingredient for arriving at just decisions and outcomes."

After which, Fox News correspondent Major Garret said:

"That aggravates those who believe justices should follow the Constitution and legislative intent."

Fox omitted the very next sentence in Obama's speech, which was:

"I will seek somebody who is dedicated to the rule of law, who honors our constitutional traditions, who respects the integrity of the judicial process and the appropriate limits of the judicial role."

Bill O'Reilly alleges that Al Gore has profited from his advocacy of renewable energy, but fails to note that all profits from his climate-related work are donated to a non-profit that he has no control over.

Fox shows a clip from a town hall meeting, of Obama saying:

"If you're going to fix [health care], why not do a universal health-care system like the European countries?"

What he actually said:

"Now, the question is, if you're going to fix [health care], why not do a universal health-care system like the European countries?"

Which was paraphrasing the question being asked in the town hall meeting from which the video clip was obtained.

Update:

sikchick - Are you saying that I made these three examples up, or that the omitted material doesn't change the meaning of the statements at all?

Update 2:

"Not nearly as often as MSNBC or CNN. "

You'll forgive me if I'm hesitant to believe you, until you provide examples like I have done above.

Update 3:

"CNN and MSNBC are incredibly biased. You people have to look at all of this."

Fox is more biased than either CNN or MSNBC. They're also the only network to say that they're the "one true unbiased network", which is blatantly false. They're no more "fair and balanced" than anyone else.

When Josef Goebbels was Hitlers "Minister of Propaganda", he contracted a radio manufacturer to make radios at a loss so that everyone could have one and listen to the BS he was peddling. Just imagine how happy Karl Rove was to find all this already in place. And just to put the icing on the cake, he could pretty much ensure all the FOX5 draft dodgers a lifetime in the spin factory without those pesky "Greetings" notices.

FOX is all about an agenda. It is a propaganda organ for the Republican Party and its job is to give one side of the story. Also FOX knows its audience. They don't want to hear both sides of the story and have to think things out for themselves. They only want their unfortunate prejudices reinforced.

FOX has been caught doing this innumerable times, also repeating rumors and lies that have been long since discredited. What they do is not journalism, it is indoctrination.

I think they just have less believable writers (narf narf)

Wow, you really hate Fox, don't you? You ought to tune in to 60 Minutes one night. Their little swine flu episode was a real exercise in fear-mongering.

So do you like any of the Fox talking heads? Who do you dislike the most and who do you like of the hosts/commentators?

They are all "news puppets" spewing whatever line their owner corp sets forth as the "truth".it's a joke .When i watch it's usually for the pure entertainment value

Not nearly as often as MSNBC or CNN. Any time the big O uses the Constitution in a sentence you have got to know that he's pandering and has no intention of honoring the constitution.
