How can I stop other cats coming around my house at night and bothering my tom-cat?
Ive had my little tom-cat joey for a year now. In the past couple of months this other cat from one of our neighbours houses keeps coming around late at night and mewing at window really loudly and fighting with my cat. Its really annoying because it keeps me awake and I worry about my cat. Can I stop this from happening?
Also is it alright to let your cat sleep in your room at night time? Just wondering. Thanks.
By tom-cat I mean male cat, sorry Ive just always called male cats tomcats. Hes also been neutered already.

Have him fixed. His testosterone levels are high and he is in fight mode almost all of the time. If you have him fixed you will not only eliminate his need to fight and mark his territory, you will also do your part in preventing the deaths of millions of unwanted kittens every year.
And its fine to let your pet sleep with you :)

By "tom cat" do you mean that he's not neutered? Odds are he isn't or the male cats wouldn't be reacting like that. So get him neutered - problem solved. I do hope you're at least keeping him indoors and not allowing him to roam around impregnating females.
Yes - of course it's alright to let your cat sleep in your room. Why wouldn't it be?
edit: one thing you could try is a cat deterrent. You could put it outside that window they come around. There's a few different ones. One will emit a shrieking sound and another emits a harmless spray - http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pet_supplies...

Ummm maybe your "tom" cat is a girl & she's in heat. That's the only reason another cat would come and howl outside your house!

I'm not sure how to make the cat permanently go away without being cruel, but you can let your cat sleep in your room at night. He might pounce on your feet, though, but it's worth it.

Get him neutered now, JUST LIKE ANY DOG OR CAT, MALE OR FEMALE SHOULD BE WHEN YOU GET HIM/HER, NOT ONE YEAR LATER!
