Losing Weight or gaining weight?

Okay, so my friends say when you work out you have more muscles and you gain weight, and your body becomes slim and fit. But I'm confused since I'm already working out very hard and i do hope to lose weight, i mean i heard in television about many celebrities and commercials on people who do lose weight and all, so i don't know whether i'm gaining weight or losing it. Doesn't your body become lighter when you burn fat? Or does your fat turn to muscle?

Muscle weighs more than fat, so as your body builds muscle, it will initially be heavier. However, muscles also burns more calories than fat, so you will eventually lose weight.

The important thing is your focus. Are you focused on being a certain size or weight or on being healthy?

Your body was made to know how to take care of itself. With that in mind, try the following to get down to the ideal size FOR YOU.

*Only eat when you're truly hungry. Wait for your stomach to growl before eating.

*Cease eating when you are no longer hungry - before feeling full.

*Eat plenty of fruits and veggies, as well as some form of protein.

*Exercise several times a week for your heart health and overall body health.

Follow these tips and listen to your body and you'll eventually become the healthiest size for your particular body.

Well it depends on what type of exercising you're doing! If you're doing cardio, which is running or using a stairmaster (whatever its called :p), you'll be burning calories and lose weight! If you lift weights or do any kind of strength training, you'll begin building muscle. That is, if you continually do it. If you're strength training, you are still working off fat, just after a while it will start increasing your muscles' strength and size, causing an increase in weight. So if you want to lose weight, do about 30 minutes of cardio per day, and lightly strength train to rid off excess fat without building muscle! Good luck! :)

Eating healthy and working out will cause you to loose weight. If you have no muscle you may gain some pounds of muscle while workingout. But if you're working out your muscles alot youll gain muscle weight. Muscle definitly weighs more then fat.

There is good weight and bad weight. When you are working out (preferably cardio) you lose bad weight. If you do muscle training then you gain good weight. Do cardio, it is great and will slim and tone you and won't give you bulky muscles. Don't worry about weight, just stay fit!

Because muscles weigh more than fat, in terms of volume, one can get physically smaller by gaining muscle weight and loosing fat weight. So you still loose fat it's just that you're also gaining muscle. If you have significant weight to loose though much more fat will be lost than muscle gained..

well it will turn the fat into muscle.

If you got a slab of fat and the same size flab of muscle it would weight 3 times more...

This means you will gain weight but you will be getting more skinny and loosing fat.

Just stick at it and you will see.

Burning fat is like jogging or light exercise.

gaining muscle and in turn weight is like the ab cruncher of the thigh toner or lighting weights. when people wanna b slim they shouldn't care bout their weight.

just like on TV u c people say they lost weight but it doesn't look like it. that's because they gained muscle instead.

muscle weighs more than fat, but in average, people have more fat than muscle or just more fat weight instead of muscle weight. so in your case, if you excersice or work out, you will lose weight, dont be surprised if you dont lose ALOT, its just your body saying that you have gained muscle (if u really hav)

Fat is cut into muscle only if you are weight training. if you are just doing cardio, it will peel off. your diet is a key factor in all of this. I lost 20 lbs last summer by restricting fatty foods and tons of carbs. Calorie count, thats the easiest solution!

your body does get lighter when you lose fat. But muscle weighs more than fat. So if you're gaining muscle.. youre going to weigh more. Fat doesnt turn into muscle. It goes away and then the muscles look more defined.
