What worms does my cat have?

There is a couple of cats here, and I heard they have worms, but I want to find out what ones they have. Currently they are taking medicine for the worms, and they take it once a day. The medicine is yellow and milk-like, stored at room temperature and is administered in unknown amounts with a graded 1cc and 3cc syringe, presumably orally and for the big cat and the small cat. They are indoors cats and eat mostly cat food. I want to know what type of worms they have, because I want to make sure I'm aware of any hazards that may affect me, and also would like to know how to help the cats sanitation wise.

They are probably tape or round worms. That's usually the only kind of worms we battle with our cats. Is the dewormer you have called Strongid? That's what we use. Just your basic things like washing your hands after touching them or anything they use. Keep that litter box cleaned out thoroughly and change the box at least once a month and the scooper. And try your best to keep fleas under control. If your cats have fleas, they can sometimes eat a flea egg and that'll cause tape worms. The worms don't really pose a threat to you unless you ingest one.

If you do an internet search on the name of the worm medicine your vet gave you it will tell you what type of worms that specific medication treats. Generally if you wash your hands after handling the cats there is very little risk of you also getting worms.

It's hard to tell without seeing. If they're taking medicine for it then you don't have to worry. If they're outside cat's they''ll get worms again. If they're inside cat's shouldn't as long as they don't eat a mouse or something. That's how cat's gets worms is from eating animals outside.
