What's the Oddest you've seen?

This is actually a 2 parter.

From my observations, most people that own multiple dogs own the same breed or 2 breeds/mixes close to the same size.

What is the oddest combination of breeds you've seen owned by one person? Mine: 98 lbs Boxer and 6 pound Pomeranian.

This question is more for those who deal with animals other than their own (vet personell, pet sitters, etc..)

I know we all have certain habits our dogs become accustomed to or little things we do differently for our pets that no one else does.

What is the oddest request you've recieved regarding the care of a dog?

Owner: "She's leash trained, but she really hates walking, but she loves to be outside, so when you walk the other dogs, could you just carry her?"

Me: "Does she hip, joint or leg problems?"

Owner: "No, she just prefers to be carried."

hahaha! I've walked dogs for a living.

I know the oddest person/pet combo I've seen was a giant man who looked like he could crush you without even trying. he was definately a body builder and had several harley bikes. he also owned a little pom and a chihuahua lol. certainly wasn't what I was expecting lol but he was a nice person and both his dogs were very well behaved.

the oddest dog/dog combo I've ever had to walk was a english mastiff and a toy poodle.

And the oddest owner request goes something like this...

Owner: "Mia really loves katie and doesn't go anywhere without her"

me: " thats fine, I don't mind walking two dogs."

Owner: "oh no, Katie isn't a dog, she's my ferret. so when you take mia out, can you please take Katie too. They're both leash trained".

Working with rescues and fostering I had the pleasure of seeing bully dog/Pom puppies. I also fostered 2. By the time they left at 3 months it was an odd look. I can't even begin to describe it. Hopefully, things improved as the aged. Believe it or not, some people love strange looking dogs. Thank gawd.

I am not a pet sitter but once after I had adopted out a dog who I was fostering, and met her at Petco, the new owner asked if I could watch her for awhile, she needed to do some shopping. This was almost 3:00. I had been out there since 9:00 am. I was tired. And hot.

She left me her cell number. Finally after almost an hour I called. Politely asked when she thought she would be back. 'Oh! So sorry.

I am in Clearwater having an early dinner. I'll be back around 6:00'.

How about you pick the dog up at my house in CLEARWATER. (I was in TAMPA, an hours drive).

That was the last time I was so stupid.

Well this guy was once showing one off at a party. He had a tat. under his arm that looked like a woman's spread legs and his arm pit hair was suppose to be................. Yeah I think that's the most vulgar thing I've seen tattooed on someone! My friends have never had one done but if I'd been there with that guy before he got his done I would have surely tried to stop him! Ew!

LMAO, too funny, carry the dog while walking others, I'm laughing so hard I'm about to cry.

My oddest combination were my two old dogs Pepsi and Senta. Pepsi was a beagle/dachshund mix and Senta was a GSD/golden retriever mix.

My oddest story came from dog sitting a friends dog, I was told that her dog did not like to play with other dogs or be near them, she preferred the company of humans. She spend the week playing with my dogs and sleeping with them. She spent time with me as well. but really preferred my dogs.

  • I haven't really seen too many odd combinations in person.

But I have seen videos of two dogs who appeared on animal planet "Ramsey and Pablo" A doberman pinscher and a Chihuahua.

I've seen a man walking 2 Pomeranians and 3 big mutts down the street... but I think he just owns a dog walking business.

I have had both big and small dogs for years. The biggest I had was a 120 lb Rottweiler and the smallest (of my own) was a 10 lb. chihuahua.

I had them both at the same time.

Now I have a Lab mix who is about 100 lbs, a coonhound mix who is about 70 lbs, a Westi mix who is about 20 lbs, and a 15 lb Rat Terrier.

I guess thats odd....its normal to me :o)

I have a 124 lb golden, a 17 lb dachshund and 17 lb Yorkie Chi x. They are all the same colour and people ask me it they are brothers... I just say yes, because they are...lol.

LMAO @ carrying a dog for a walk! You could just carry her around the house, wouldn't make a difference. lol... people are silly.

Myself: Doberman, Basset Hound and Bulldog. One is tall, slender and muscular, the other 1 1/2 dogs long and a 1/2 of dog tall, and the third.....well....looks like a cross between a large bowling ball and pig! lol (Not to mention cropped ears, very long and large ears, and rosette ears.)
